City Council debates costs of new wastewater treatment plant
Completing the new wastewater treatment facility in Green River could cost the city hundreds of thousands of dollars more than anticipated.
During Tuesday's Green River City Council Meeting, Director of Public Works Mark Westenskow spoke about a revision to the service agreement with Burns and McDonnell Engineering Co. for the new wastewater treatment facility in the amount of $789,612. Rate adjustments account for $265,665 of the increase, with the remaining $523,947 going toward the extension of the contract.
