Sweetwater County School District No. 2 recently announced that Andri Dewey has been chosen as the new Head Volleyball Coach for Green River High School.
Dewey will be replacing Jessica Demaret, who stepped down from the position in January.
"We are extremely excited that Andri Dewey has accepted the position of Green River High School Head Volleyball Coach," SCSD No. 2 Athletics Director Tony Beardsley said. "Andri was a standout athlete for Green River High School and played NCAA Division I volleyball for Idaho State University. She is a strong role model for our student-athletes."
Dewey graduated from GRHS in 2018. During her high school career, she was a two-time All-State and All-Conference Volleyball athlete. She was also a two-time All-State Track athlete, and a one-time All-State and All-Conference Basketball athlete.
During her college career, Dewey was chosen for the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team from 2019 to 2022. She was a committee member for the Idaho State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2020. She received the Bengal ROAR Award for Excellence, Integrity and Academics in 2021. And she was a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete in 2022 and 2023.
Dewey also has several years of coaching experience, including being a volleyball coach for the Eastern Idaho Volleyball Club from 2020 to 2024, an assistant volleyball coach at Idaho State University from 2023 to 2024, an assistant volleyball coach at Rock Springs High School in 2024, and the current assistant Girls Basketball coach at Green River High School.
