Spring Tennis will give practice to high schoolers and middle schoolers

The Green River High School Boys and Girls Spring Tennis program will be getting underway Monday, March 31 again this year, according to Head Tennis Coach Phil Harder. The Tennis program will also include a component for the Middle School Club in which they will change things up so kids who do middle school spring sports can still play tennis with the GRHS teams in the evening after the high school practice.

Speaking of the upcoming season, Coach Harder notes that they will have a few Varsity returners for spring and will miss some as they are in other spring sports since "fall is tennis's main season."

The Coach did note that "our No. 1 Singles players are playing this spring and that will pay dividends for them this fall."

The tentative schedule has the team competing in Gillette in an overnight trip on Friday and Saturday, April 11-12. They will also have a meet against Rock Springs in Rock Springs Thursday, April 24, and a competition against Cheyenne and Laramie in Cheyenne on April 26. Rock Springs will come to Green River for a match on Thursday, May 1. The season will conclude with a multi-team meet Saturday, May 3, which will include teams from Green River, Rock Springs, Rawlins and Laramie at Green River. There is no Regional or State Competition for Spring Tennis.

Middle schoolers will also be involved in a number of the spring season meets.
