Green River Wolves Basketball has tough road battles

The Green River Wolves Basketball had a challenging road trip to Casper, facing two powerhouse programs in Kelly Walsh and Natrona County. Despite giving it their all, the Wolves fell in both matchups, losing 72-34 to Kelly Walsh and 66-31 to Natrona. Though the scoreboard didn't reflect the effort, these games were another test of the team's resilience and determination.

Against Kelly Walsh, the Wolves struggled to find offensive momentum against a high-pressure defense. However, Dax Taylor stood out, leading the team with 14 points in a strong individual performance. Hunter Lake and Dylan Archibald worked to create opportunities, each dishing out three assists to keep the offense moving. On the defensive end, Adam Robinson fought hard on the boards, grabbing six rebounds in a gritty effort under the rim. But Kelly Walsh's efficiency and relentless pace proved too much to overcome.

The following night, Green River faced Natrona County in another tough battle. Once again, the Wolves had difficulty establishing their offensive rhythm against a disciplined and physical opponent. Dylan Archibald led the team with seven points, while Lake facilitated the offense with four assists. Taylor and Archibald both worked hard on the glass, securing three defensive rebounds each. Though the Wolves showed fight, Natrona's ability to capitalize on key possessions made it difficult for Green River to stay within striking distance.

While the weekend didn't end the way the team had hoped, the lessons learned on the road and throughout the year will be invaluable as the program looks ahead to the final game of the season before they enter into the Regional games. Green River will travel to Rock Springs to play their last conference game against the Tigers on Friday. After that, the Wolves will be playing in the 4A Boys Basketball Regional Tournament in Rock Springs on March 6 - 8.
