Green River Police Department reports for Dec. 31, 2024

At 12:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment.

At 1:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual repeatedly calling 911 to report parking problems. After speaking with the individual and advising them to not report non-emergencies on an emergency line, the individual, Gina Barna, continued to do so and was placed under arrest for alleged interference with emergency calls - 911 other than emergency purpose. Barna was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 1:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic hazard.

At 1:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance.

At 8:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of a weapon offense.

At 9:51 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for an alleged headlights - one on each side violation.

At 10:44 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Trajan McQuitty, a citation for alleged no valid driver's license, MC endorsement, instruction/intermediate permits, expired driver's license, work permit. Officers also issued a warning for an alleged headlights - one on each side violation.

At 11:34 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged speeding.

January 1, 2025

At 12:32 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration.

At 12:39 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for an alleged tail lights required violation.

At 1:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance.

At 1:49 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance.

At 11:13 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged speed - generally.

At 12:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of two dogs at large. Officers located the owner, Emily Gomez, issued her two citations for alleged animal at large - second offense, and released the dogs back to the owner.

At 1:40 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged speed - generally.

At 2:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing.

At 3:21 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration.

At 8:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence.

At 9:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of assault.

At 9:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny.

Jan. 5

At 1:14 a.m., officers responded to a report of burglary.

At 3:13 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for having a white tail light. Officers made contact with the driver, Farhan Zaman, and found him to have a suspended driver's license. Officers placed Zaman under arrest for alleged DWUS second or subsequent offense and transported him to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where he was issued citations for alleged DWUS second or subsequent offense and required color of reflectors, clearance. Officers then completed a report of the incident.

At 9:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a parked vehicle. Officers met with the driver of the first vehicle, who advised the sun was in his eyes, causing him to rear end the second vehicle. Officers observed a haze on the first vehicle's windshield, which was also obstructing the driver's view. The driver of the first vehicle, Chance Wood, was issued citations for alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - second+ offense and obstruction of view/passage. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic offense.

At 10:06 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration.

At 11:12 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Erin Calderon, a citation for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration.

At 12:26 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speed. Officers located marijuana in the vehicle and issued the driver, David Vela, citations for alleged speed - generally and possession of controlled substance - plant - 3 oz or less. Officers completed a report of the incident.

From 12:27 p.m. to 6:11 p.m., officers conducted 24 traffic stops. Officers issued 17 warnings for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration; two warnings for alleged speed - generally; one warning for an alleged obedience to traffic control device violation; one warning for an alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - first offense; and one warning for alleged no valid driver's license, MC endorsement, instruction/intermediate permits, expired driver's license, work permit.

At 4:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run.

At 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into two parked vehicles. Officers met with the driver and after investigation determined her to be under the influence. Officers placed the driver, Maegan Harper, under arrest for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater and transported her to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Harper was issued citations for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater, open container, compulsory auto insurance violation - first offense, and seat belt violation: driver. Officers then completed a report of the incident.

At 7:25 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged improper lane usage.

At 10:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment.

Jan. 6

At 2:04 a.m, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for an alleged valid certificate of title, certificate of registration, and license plates required violation.

At 9:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny.

Jan. 7

At 8:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Brittany Birmingham, a citation for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration. Officers also issued a warning for an alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - first offense.

At 10:48 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance.

At 12:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of a scam.

At 2:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of juveniles in possession of tobacco. Officers met with two juveniles and found both to be in possession of tobacco. Both were issued citations for alleged use/possession of tobacco by minor and officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence.

From 10:25 a.m. on Jan. 7 to 1:19 a.m. on Jan. 8, officers conducted 17 traffic stops. Officers issued 12 warnings for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration, one warning for alleged speed - generally, one warning for an alleged headlights - one on each side violation, and one warning for an alleged tail lights required violation.

Jan. 8

At 2:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic offense.

At 4:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, a juvenile, a citation for an alleged stop sign violation.

At 4:58 p.m., officers responded to a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report and conducted a traffic stop on the reported vehicle. After investigation, officers found the driver, Kathryn Arehart, to be under the influence. She was placed under arrest for alleged DUI alcohol .08 or greater - first offense within 10 years. Arehart was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where she was issued an additional citation for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 5:57 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence.

At 8:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and made contact with the involved parties. After investigation, officers placed Keima Reeves under arrest for alleged public intoxication and transported her to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of an accident.

At 10:55 p.m., officers while on routine patrol observed a vehicle in the McDonald's drive thru with a flat tire and the employees of McDonald's reported the driver was intoxicated. Officers made contact with the driver, David Hernandez, and after investigation determined he was under the influence. Hernandez was placed under arrest for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater and he was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center, where he was issued a citation for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater. Officers completed a report of the incident.

From 8:03 a.m. to 9:18 p.m., officers conducted 11 traffic stops. Officers issued six warnings for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration, two warnings for improper lane usage, one warning for alleged vehicle exceeding 20 miles per hour in a school zone (1-5 miles per hour over), one warning for alleged speeding in a school zone, one warning for alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - first offense, and one warning for alleged no valid driver's license, MC endorsement, instruction/intermediate permits, expired driver's license, work permit.

Jan. 9

At 8:59 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Laverne Howey, citations for an alleged turn at intersections: left turns violation and using electronic handheld device to read, write, send or read text while driving. Officers completed a report of the incident.

Jan. 10

At 10:34 a.m., officers responded to a report of fraud.

At 10:36 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Jerrica McCloy, a citation for an alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - first offense. Officers also issued a warning for an alleged tail lights violation.

At 1:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny.

At 2:07 p.m., officers while on a unrelated call came into contact with an individual with an active warrant. Officers placed the individual, James Joy, under arrest per the warrant, transported him to the Sweetwater County Detention Center, and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of a weapon offense.

At 3:36 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Benjamin Williams, a citation for an alleged valid certificate of title, certificate of registration, and license plates required violation.

At 4:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence.

At 10:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of fireworks.

From 8:56 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., officers conducted five traffic stops. Officers issued three warnings for alleged valid certificate of title, certificate of registration, and license plates required violations. Officers also issued one warning for an alleged stop sign violation.

Jan. 11

At 12:14 a.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic offense.

At 10:06 a.m., officers responded to a report of a dog at large. Officers impounded the dog and made contact with the owner. The owner, Karin Ward, was issued a citation for alleged animal at large and the dog was released back to the owner. 

At 3:56 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration.

At 4:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of an accident.

At 6:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment.

At 7:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence.

Jan. 12

At 1:59 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Hunter Byrd, a citation for alleged exhibition of acceleration.

At 2:28 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued the driver, Kari Moser, a citation for alleged compulsory auto insurance -first offense. Officers also issued a warning for an alleged valid certificate of title, certificate of registration, and license plates required violation.

At 4:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny.

At 4:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and issued a warning for an alleged valid certificate of title, certificate of registration, and license plates required violation.

At 4:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage.

At 8:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic offense.

At 10:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance.

Jan. 13

At 2:08 a.m., officers while on routine patrol observed a possible hit and run. Officers observed a bumper in the roadway and then observed two vehicles that appeared to have been recently hit. Officers met with the owners of the vehicles that had been hit and were advised that the damage was new. Officers were able to locate a suspect, a juvenile, and issued them citations for alleged no valid driver's license, MC endorsement, instruction/intermediate permits, expired driver's license, work permit; and duty to render aid/information. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 7:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of an accident.

At 8:06 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run.

At 9:06 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage.

At 9:40 a.m., officers responded to Probation and Parole for an individual with an arrest and hold order. Officers placed the individual, Tiffany Farmer, under arrest per the order and transported her to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.
