Golden Hour Senior Center January schedule

"January's pace is much slower than the last couple of months and we are ready to regroup and use that time to come up with new ideas and classes to peak all your interests," GHSC Director Marcia Driggs explained. "We do have a few new classes stating this month or old ones that are coming back. Let one of the office staff know if you have an idea or class you would like to see at Golden Hour. We will do our best to make it happen. Please, make your New Year's Resolution to stop in and spend some time with us having lunch or trying something new."

Blood Pressure Clinic: Jan. 9, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

AARP Smart Driver Class (RSVP, $25): Jan. 11, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Morning Games: Jan. 13 and 27, 10 a.m.

Nurse: Jan. 16, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Public Breakfast: Jan. 17, 7 - 10 a.m.

Hand Massage (sign up for a spot): Jan. 17 and 31, 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Birthday Lunch: Jan. 23, 11:30 a.m.

Frames Class (RSVP needed): Jan. 24, 10 a.m.

Lunch:

Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a salad bar served daily. Dine-in meals are $5 for seniors (60 and over) and $8 for non-seniors. Takeout meals are $6 for seniors and $9 for non-seniors. Home-delivered meals for seniors are $5.

In their January newsletter, GHSC noted that meal prices have increased by one dollar, effective at the start of the year, explaining: "This decision is one that the board has taken seriously and have been considering for the past three years. It is based on several things. GHSC has not done a price increase in over 20 years. Since 2019 food costs have risen 25%. We truly appreciate each and every one of our patrons."

GHSC would like to remind everyone that curbside orders are due by 10:30 a.m. each day. To-go meals cannot be packed during the dine-in time. All home delivered meals and cancellations are due by 8:30 a.m.

Golden Hour Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
