The Green River High School Girls Wrestling team started their season this year on the road, competing at the Star Valley Lady Braves Brawl in Afton Thursday, December 12. Teams competing included Star Valley, Mountain View and Green River from Wyoming; Skyview from Utah; and South Fremont, Sky View, Sugar Salem and Thunder Ridge from Idaho. The Lady Wolves finished fourth in the field of eight.
Green River had seven wrestlers competing, including four freshman, two sophomores and one senior.
Senior Lily Harris led the way for the Lady Wolves, taking first place in the 130 pound weight class, winning both her matches finishing 2-0. Adia Price, a sophomore, finished with a record of 2-1, which was good for second place.
The Lady Wolves had two wrestlers in the 120 pound class, with Sophomore Bianca Maez taking fourth after finishing 2-2 and Freshman Payton Dodge finishing with a record of 1-2, place unknown.
Two freshman competed in the 110 pound weight class. Kayleigh Johnson finished with a record of 1-1, taking third place, and Kaylee Logan finished with a record of 1-2 to take fourth. Josslyn Morison competed in the 115 pound weight class and finished 0-2 with place unknown.
The Lady Wolves will again be on the road this Friday as they compete in the Kemmerer Invitational.
