Several activities took place on or around Veterans Day to honor and serve local veterans. Local Boy Scouts Troop 312 served a pancake breakfast to veterans at the American Legion Tom Whitmore Post 28 in Green River last Saturday morning. They served pancakes, bacon and orange juice, which was free to all veterans and their families. Several schools also did Veterans Day programs, including Truman Elementary. Students read proclamations and sang songs in honor of veterans.
