Cross Country team gets new personal records at Regionals

The Green River High School Cross Country team faced more tough competition at Regionals.

The Wolves headed to Rock Springs last Friday for Regionals. Green River faced seven other teams, going up against Evanston, Jackson Hole, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Riverton, Rock Springs and Star Valley.

The course was like the Rolling Hills that they ran on a couple weeks ago, but "there are a few little hills in it, it is not one of the more difficult ones," said Head Coach Craig Leavitt, adding that this course is "usually one of the faster races the team does."

Even though the Wolves had to run in the wet and cold weather, "they had some pretty good tines," explained Coach Leavitt, adding that "the boys team had six PRs."

On Saturday, the Wolves will head to State in Cheyenne. All of the teams that competed at Regionals will go to state. From the Wolves' team, seven of the boy athletes will be able to go and all of the girl athletes will go.
