The Green River High School Lady Wolves Swimming team had a strong showing over the weekend at both the Cheyenne Duals and Southeast Invite, held on October 11 and 12. The team demonstrated their depth and skill, with standout performances across various events.
At the Cheyenne Duals, the Lady Wolves took control early in the meet, starting with the 200-Yard Medley Relay. The A-team of Peyton Murray, Kaylin Uhrig, Tavia Arnell, and Hailey Luth secured first place with a time of 2:02.42. Green River's B and C teams also placed fifth and seventh, showcasing the team's depth.
Green River continued to dominate individual events, with Haley Clevenger taking second in the 200-Yard Free (2:08.46) and Bree Van Etten placing fourth (2:21.29). Tavia Arnell added to the team's successes by winning the 200-Yard Individual Medley (2:24.28), while Uhrig and Zoie Gilmore finished third and fifth, respectively. Clevenger also won first place in the 500-Yard Free (5:43.03).
In the sprint events, Alayna Kelhofer took third in the 50-Yard Free (28.24), with teammate Luth placing fifth. Peyton Murray led the Lady Wolves in the 100-Yard Butterfly, claiming first place (1:12.78), and Van Etten followed closely in second. Arnell also finished first in the 100-Yard Backstroke (1:06.90) along with Kaylin Uhrig claiming second place in the 100-Yard Breaststroke (1:17.32). The Wolves finished the meet on a high note with a win in the 400-Yard Free Relay, where Clevenger, Arnell, Luth, and Kellhofer swam a swift 4:06.07.
The next day at the Southeast Invite, the Lady Wolves kept their momentum going, starting with a second-place finish in the Girls 200-Yard Medley Relay (2:01.05). In individual events, Clevenger took first in the 200-Yard Free (2:08.19), while Arnell continued her dominance with a victory in the 200-Yard IM (2:17.00) and the 100-Yard Fly (1:02.15).
Other notable performances included Kellhofer's sixth-place finish in the 50-Yard Free (27.59), and Uhrig placing second in the 100-Yard Breaststroke (1:14.24). The Lady Wolves capped the day with a fourth-place finish in the 400-Yard Free Relay (4:03.38).
Overall, the weekend highlighted Green River's strong team cohesion and individual talent. The Lady Wolves will look to build on their successes as they move towards the end of the season.
