Green River Volleyball secures two wins during Homecoming week

The Green River Lady Wolves Volleyball team successfully navigated a busy Homecoming week, earning two victories. Their first win was against Mountian View last Tuesday, and they finished the week with a 3-0 win against 2A Kemmerer on October 12. The match concluded with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-18 in favor of Green River, who currently holds a #5 ranking in the 4A division.

Despite the distractions of Homecoming, the team maintained focus and executed well on the court, according to Head Coach Jessica Demaret.

"Our girls did a great job of picking up two wins despite all of the distractions throughout the week," said Demaret. "It was a busy week with all of the Homecoming events, plus two volleyball games."

Green River's consistent play was evident as they maintained control throughout the match. With a balanced offensive approach and solid defensive execution, they managed to outplay Kemmerer in all three sets. Their well-rounded performance showcased the team's ability to adapt to the game's flow and capitalize on key opportunities, making for a decisive victory.

Looking ahead, the Lady Wolves are focused on the remainder of their conference schedule as they prepare for postseason play.

"We are looking forward to getting back to some conference games this week traveling to Riverton and the Casper schools," Demaret added. "With only two weeks left in conference play, we are focused on one game at a time and getting us set up at Regionals to meet some of our long-term goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the season."

With two weeks remaining in conference competition, the team is looking to strengthen its standing and build momentum for the upcoming Regional tournament. Green River continues to take a measured approach, concentrating on one match at a time to secure the best possible seeding for Regionals.

As the season winds down, Green River remains focused on maintaining its level of play, preparing for the challenges ahead in the final stretch of conference play.
