2/1/1949 - 10/7/24
Our world is a bit sadder with the passing of our dear mother Lois Christensen Lowell. She was born February 1, 1949, in Rock Springs, Wyoming and passed away on October 7, 2024 in Murray, Utah.
She grew up in Manila, Utah and after marrying Rex Lowell 57 years ago, she lived in Green River, Wyoming; Tacoma, Washington; Boise, Idaho; Manila, Utah and back to Green River, Wyoming. She moved to Murray, Utah in 2013 to be close to her kids. No matter where she lived, she kindled friendships and everyone was always welcome in her home.
She was brave, strong, courageous, faithful, and not only endured much, but had endurance, especially when it came to shopping. She truly had the light of Christ within her. She was happiest when she was serving others, so she was happy a lot because there was never a time she wasn't helping others. We will remember her food, her quilts and will miss playing cards with her.
She is survived by her husband, Rex Lowell; four children, Darrell Lowell, Rebecca (Eric) Lowell-Fairbourn, Bernadette (William) Chavez and Javen (Heather) Lowell; twelve grandchildren, Alanna, Amon, Savanna, Terik, Eli, Sebastian, DJ, Aspen, Carly, Landon, Josie and Shelby; one great grandchild, Atreus; one sister, Lura Jean Youngberg; and two in-laws, Louis Youngberg and Florence Christensen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Afton Christensen, and six siblings, Dixon, Von, Joan, Dahle, Jane and Claire.
A viewing was held on Friday, October 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. in Sandy, Utah. Her funeral was held Saturday, October 12 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 6300 S. 700 W., in Murray, Utah. There was a viewing preceding the funeral from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
