The Green River High School Girls and Boys Tennis teams traveled east this past week for a series of games.
The Wolves started with games against Torrington played in Laramie at 1 p.m. on Thursday before moving on to play Cheyenne South in Cheyenne Friday at 2:30 p.m. The team stayed overnight and played Cheyenne East at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. They finished the long road trip by going against Cheyenne Central at 1 p.m. before heading home later that afternoon.
The Lady Wolves beat Torrington 5-0 while the boys team prevailed 4-1, with their only loss coming in the #2 Singles match in a close game, with final scores of 2-6, 6-2, and 4-6.
On Friday, the Wolves took on Cheyenne South and dominated against them, with the girls winning 5-0 and the boys winning by the same score.
Saturday morning, the Wolves took on Cheyenne East with another strong performance as the girls won 4-1 and the boys also won 4-1.
On Saturday afternoon, at the culmination of their long road trip, the Wolves were defeated by an always strong Cheyenne Central Tennis program, with both the girls and boys losing 5-0.
Head Tennis Coach Phil Harder commented that “four matches in three days is a lot on the road.” He went on to say that he was glad that the team has four days of practice to fine tune and get ready to host Regionals this Friday and Saturday.
