Lady Wolves Swimming and Diving team ready to make waves

As the new season approaches, the Green River High School Swimming and Diving team, led by veteran Coach Colleen Seiloff, is gearing up an exciting and competitive year. The team has been hard at work, and Seiloff is optimistic about their prospects.

"We have a solid group of girls this year, all dedicated to pushing their limits and supporting each other both in and out of the pool," Seiloff said.

The Lady Wolves have built a reputation for excellence over the years, and this season, they are determined to uphold that legacy. The team's rigorous training regimen has been focused on refining techniques, building endurance, and enhancing their overall performance.

"Swimming is both an individual and a team sport. While personal achievements are important, it's the collective effort that truly defines a successful season," Coach Seiloff explained. She emphasized that every swimmer plays a crucial role in the team's success, whether they are competing in individual events or relays.

This year's team is a blend of seasoned athletes and promising newcomers, creating a dynamic and cohesive unit. Seiloff noted the importance of fostering team chemistry, which she believes will be a key factor in their success.

"We really work on building a supportive environment where everyone feels like they're part of something bigger. That sense of belonging can be just as important as the physical training," she added.

When asked about the team's strategy for the season, Seiloff highlighted their focus on improving starts, turns, and overall stamina.

"We're really working on the small details that can make a big difference in competition. Perfecting starts and turns, as well as maintaining stamina throughout the longer events, is essential. These aspects are what can push us to the top in tight races," she stated.

One of the most exciting aspects of this season is the depth of talent on the team. Coach Seiloff found it challenging to highlight just one standout swimmer.

"We have a team full of talented girls, and it's hard to pick just one to highlight. Each of them brings something unique to the table," she said.

Among the standouts are Hailey Luth, Tavia Arnell, Tanith Smith, Haley Clevenger and Kaylin Uhrig. These athletes have already made a name for themselves and are expected to be key contributors in both individual and relay events.

"They all bring something different to the team, and it's going to be exciting to see how they perform as the season progresses," Coach Seiloff said.

Looking ahead, Seiloff is particularly excited about the upcoming meets against some of their biggest rivals.

"We're always up for the challenge when it comes to our competitors. These meets are what the girls train for all season, and I know they'll rise to the occasion," she said.

The Lady Wolves are set to face off against some tough competition, and the atmosphere at these meets is expected to be electric. Seiloff believes that these high-stakes competitions will bring out the best in her team, pushing them to perform at their highest level.

As the season kicks off, the Green River Lady Wolves are poised to make a splash, driven by their dedication, skill, and the strong leadership of Coach Seiloff. The community will undoubtedly be watching closely as these athletes dive into another promising year, ready to support their journey every step of the way.
