The Green River Pond and Garden Tour is returning once again this year, and is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 3.
This year, attendees have the chance to visit eight garden homes in Green River and one in Rock Springs.
"Visitors have exclusive access to nine gardens with amazing creativity, gardens with ponds, colorful Koi, garden rooms, and vegetable gardens," Lyneen Murphy, the tour organizer, explained. "There will be Master Gardeners for those who have questions about our High Desert climate. See something you like or have questions for the garden home owner, this is your chance to ask. Garden home owners will let you know their successes and failures."
Participants are encouraged to bring a camera and wear sunscreen, and are asked to be respectful and remember they are guests in each garden home.
The tour also raises money for a special cause each year through a raffle.
"This year's raffle is to raise funds for a memory bench for all ponders who have made this unique event so successful and to those who we have lost," Murphy said. "This bench will have a metal back with pond and garden art cutouts."
The Pond and Garden Tour is self-guided and free to the public. Tour guides can be picked up at Riverside Nursery and the Green River Chamber of Commerce. More information can also be found on the Green River Pond and Garden Tour Facebook page.
