Charles "Charlie" Matteson Love (Updated Services)

Charles Matteson Love passed away quietly in his sleep on May 8 after six months of deteriorating health. Born in Laramie, Wyoming, in 1944, Charles was a proud third-generation Wyomingite.

Teacher, adventurer, storyteller, scientist, and colorful local character, Charlie was widely known in Wyoming and the Mountain West.

A celebration of life for WWCC Professor Charles Love will be held on Friday, August 2 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the atrium at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs. The dress code is casual, and the wearing of Hawaiian shirts is strongly encouraged. You can share your memories of Charlie in a slideshow by emailing digital pictures to charlielovememories@gmail.com, or by bringing pictures to share on a display board. Stories will be told, refreshments will be served.
