This past Thursday, the Green River High School Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity traveled to the Star Valley High School in Afton to take on the always-formidable Star Valley Braves Wrestling teams. The Wolves Varsity defeated Star Valley 43-25 while the Junior Varsity scored a 62-50 win over the Braves.
After the meet, Head Wrestling Coach Josh Wisniewski commented that they were very happy with how the team competed in Star Valley.
"It's always tough to wrestle them in their gym or anywhere for that matter," he said. "Coach Clark always has his team very well prepared."
Last Saturday, the Green River Wolves Wrestling team followed up their strong performance and win on Thursday with a trip to another outstanding wrestling program, taking on the Pinedale Wranglers in Pinedale on senior night. The final score of the dual was Green River 39, Pinedale 41.
Wisniewski explained: "We knew going to Pinedale on their senior night was going to be a tough task against a good team." He went on to note, "Yes the loss was disappointing but we are moving on, getting better and looking forward to the duals this week."
The Wolves wrestled Evanston on their senior night in Green River last night, and they will head over to wrestle Rock Springs today at 6 p.m.
