The Wolves Varsity Wrestling team traveled to Reno, Nevada this past weekend on December 15 and 16 to compete in one of the toughest high school meets in the nation - the Reno Tournament of Champions.
Green River competed along with teams from Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The team gained excellent experience, competing with many of the best high school wrestlers in the nation.
Green River finished in 41st place out of 88 teams at Reno.
This past Saturday, December 16, the Green River Girls Varsity and the Boys Junior Varsity Wrestling teams competed in the 2023 Joe Aimone Invitational in Kemmerer, Wyoming. They faced teams from Lyman, Mountain View, Kemmerer, Jackson Hole, Cokeville, Big Piney and Bear Lake, Idaho in their last competition of the year before the Christmas break.
The Wrestling team's next competition will be in Vernal, Utah for another very competitive regional meet as the Boys Varsity, Girls Varsity, and Boys Junior Varsity compete together in the Uinta Tournament of Champions on January 5 and 6.
