The Green River Wolves Swimming and Diving team hosted the Green River Invite which started Friday and ended Saturday. Green River has a very young team this year and have been competing well. They have been learning a lot about technique and how hard the practices can be. They have also shown how much potential they have.
On Friday, the Wolves competed against six teams and swam away with a third-place finish. Keegan Gailey showed off his skills in the One-Meter Diving event and took first-place. Colin Gilmore took first-place in the 200 Yard Individual Medley along with Dallan Owens who took first-place in the 100 Yard Butterfly.
On Saturday, Green River competed against eight teams and snagged a fourth-place finish. Gailey was one of the top finishers for the Wolves again, winning first-place in the One-Meter Diving event along with Gilmore taking first-place in the 200 Yard Freestyle event.
Head Coach Colleen Seiloff is happy with the progress of the season so far. She feels the boys have been doing really well and is pleased they already have six qualified swimmers for State and three divers that have qualified. She is also happy with the time cuts the boys have made and she has seen lots of improvement on their stroke techniques.
The Wolves will travel to Lander for a meet today at 4 p.m. and after a short break for the holidays, they will travel to compete in the Laramie Invite on December 28 and 29.
