Hollis Andrew Gipson III, known as H.A., passed away on November 2, 2023, at the age of 67 in Green River, Wyoming, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born on December 7, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee.
H.A. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Delynne Gipson, with whom he shared 36 years of his life, his three daughters Tuesday, Shauna, and Sheena, and eight grandchildren: Kenneth, Kaden, Kegan, Starr, Tanner, Legion, David, & Lillain. He was proceeded in death by his father Hollis Andrew Gipson II, his mother Neva Wells Davis, and his brother Lynn and is survived by two brothers, Rusty and Al, and his three sisters, Holly, Helen, and Gay.
Hollis served in the Navy before spending 40 years working in the oil field, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect of his colleagues and friends. Even after retirement he spent time working in landscaping as a way to keep busy and spend time outdoors. H.A. had a love for fishing that truly lit up his life and he valued any opportunity to get out onto the water.
H.A. was a straightforward man who valued hard work, family, and friends. His loyalty was unwavering, and he picked his friends and who he considered family carefully. He will be remembered for his down-to-earth nature as someone who worked hard, played hard and loved hard. As we bid farewell to H.A., we honor a man who lived life on his terms, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and a passion for the simple joys of life. Hollis Gipson will forever be missed and remembered by all those who were fortunate to have known him.
A graveside service to celebrate Hollis's life will be held at Orem City Cemetery on Monday, November 13th at noon.
