Lady Wolves State Qualifiers
The Green River Lady Wolves Swimming and Diving team hosted their Last Chance meet last Thursday against Rock Springs, Lyman and Evanston. Green River picked up one more swimmer for the 3A State Championships, bringing their total to 20 girls. After a lot of hard work and determination, Ellie Mandros qualified in the 100 Yard Butterfly.
During the meet, Tavia Arnell, Haley Clevenger, Courtney Clark, and Tanith Smith broke the school and pool record in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:40.82. The previous record was held by the same ladies with a time of 1:41.29. Tavia Arnell broke her previous pool record in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 59.00. Her previous record was 59.24.
The Lady Wolves are traveling to compete in the 3A State Championships that take place on November 3 and 4 in Gillette. Good luck to this amazing and talented group of ladies! They display passion for swimming on a daily basis and have had an amazing season, winning most of the meets they have competed in.
Head Coach Colleen Seiloff says she is really looking forward to watching the ladies compete at State.
