Lady Wolves continue to flourish

The Green River Lady Wolves Swimming and Diving team had the chance to swim with some stiffer competition when they traveled to Cheyenne on Friday and then to Laramie on Saturday. Going up against 4A teams makes for fast-paced races, and the Lady Wolves held their own both days. There were many first-place winners, including Tavia Arnell, Tanith Smith, Courtney Clark and Emilee Barnes, along with their "A" relay teams claiming first in three events.

Head Coach Colleen Seiloff was very happy with how the girls swam during both meets. She said they're very excited about picking up another qualifier for State, Mallory Lyon, which makes a total of 17 girls now competing in the State Championships in Gillette this November. With two weeks left until Conference, she is hoping to pick up even more qualifiers and said it would be amazing if they could get 20 swimmers this year. During the next couple weeks, the team will be focusing on fine-tuning techniques and building up speed with lots of hard work.

"They will go into Conference very tired, and that's exactly where I want them to be," explained Coach Seiloff.

The Lady Wolves will travel to compete in the Rawlins Invite on Saturday. The teams competing are Green River, Evanston, Kemmerer, Lyman, Rawlins, Rock Springs and Sublette County.
