Lady Wolves annihilate the competition

The Lady Wolves Swimming and Diving team continues to annihilate the competition.

On Friday, Green River competed against Evanston, Kemmerer, Rawlins and Rock Springs at the Rock Springs Invite. Green River swam away with 448 points, while Evanston came in second with 207, Kemmerer came in third with 189, Rawlins came in fourth with 180 and Rock Springs came in fifth with 168.

On Saturday, the Lady Wolves hosted the Green River Invite, competing against Rawlins, Lyman, Evanston, Kemmerer, Rock Springs and Riverton. The scoreboard said it all, as the Lady Wolves left all the competition behind, outscoring all of the other teams with 441 points. Rawlins came in second place scoring 161 points, Lyman in third with 146, Evanston in fourth with 143, Kemmerer in fifth with 139, Rock Springs in sixth with 137 and Riverton in seventh with 129.

The girls have really learned and accomplished the meaning of teamwork. All of Green River's "A" relay teams took first place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the 200 Yard Freestyle and 500 Yard Freestyle Relay for both invites. They really push each other to gain more speed every week and their hard work and dedication is overflowing into a lot of success for the Lady Wolves team.

"I've been playing around with different relay combinations and I switch it every time," explained Head Coach Colleen Seiloff. "I've got a core of girls that I can switch in and out and we're trying to find the best combination for them when State rolls around."

Coach Seiloff said that several girls on the team have been sick and she was very impressed that the girls were able to compete at both meets and do so well. She said some of the girls were swimming some of their best times this year and some of them were very close to beating their personal best records.

Green River is hosting a dual against Lander today at 3 p.m. On Friday, Green River will dual the Rock Springs Tigers in Rock Springs at 3 p.m. It's always very exciting when the girls swim against the past champions and the Lady Tigers, so come and support the Lady Wolves!
