Green River's Tavia Arnell dominated the pool and was the overall winner of the Laramie Pentathlon that took place in Laramie on Saturday. There were more than 88 swimmers that competed in the event. Arnell won the 100 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Backstroke and 100 Yard Butterfly and took second place in the 50 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Her combined total for the five strokes was 4:34.14, beating Cheyenne Central's Izzy DeLay by 5.14 seconds.
Head Coach Colleen Seiloff was very happy to see Arnell win the Pentathlon after placing second place last year. She said Arnell has worked very hard and is a very good competitor.
Arnell has been swimming since she was six years old and has always loved the sport. She has been practicing hard during the summer and her dedication has paid off.
"It felt pretty good," said Arnell when asked how she felt about winning the Pentathlon. "It's nice to know that I'm starting the season strong."

The Lady Wolves really enjoyed competing in the relays against the 4A teams and they definitely held their own. Their goals are to keep improving as the season goes on, and this meet was an outstanding start to a great season.
