Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 18
At 2:54 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with involved parties, gathered statements, and placed Erick Botello Rojas, of Green River, under arrest for alleged domestic battery. Officers transported Botello Rojas to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 9:29 a.m., officers responded to a report of a bus light violation and issued the driver, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged meeting or passing a stopped school bus.
At 9:34 a.m., officers observed a property in violation of the City ordinance for nuisance weeds. Officers contacted the residence's owner, issued a notice to abate, and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:39 a.m., officers responded to the Bus Barn at 200 Monroe Avenue for a report of multiple bus light violations. Officers gathered information and issued a citation for alleged meeting or passing a stopped school bus to Scott McDaniel, of Green River.
At 11:13 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.
At 3:32 p.m., officers responded to Smiths at 905 Bridger Drive for a report of trespassing. Officers met with a store manager who requested to have an individual trespassed from the property. Officers made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed an incident report.
At 8:56 p.m., officers responded to Taco Bell at 82 Uinta Drive for a report of disturbance. Officers met with an individual who had been causing a disturbance and gathered information. Officers placed Adrian Bodney, of Green River, under arrest and issued a citation for alleged public intoxication. Officers transported Bodney to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:31 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hitching Post Drive for a report of a hit and run collision. Officers located the suspected vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers met with the driver and later placed Troy Froman, of Rock Springs, under arrest and issued citations for alleged open container and hit and run - attended property. Officers transported Froman to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed an incident report.
At 10:37 p.m., officers issued citations for alleged open container and hit and run - attended property.
Aug. 19
At 3:12 a.m., officers responded to the area of Washington Street for a report of a suspicious noise. Officers met with an individual who reported hearing three pops that they described as gunfire. Officers patrolled the area but did not locate any evidence of shots fired. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 8:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation and gathered information. The subject was uncooperative and a taser was deployed. Subsequently, officers placed Alonso Murillo Soto under arrest for alleged domestic battery - 1st offense and interference with peace officer - interferes or resists arrest. Officers transported Alonso to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed an incident report.
At 5:36 p.m., officers responded to the area of W Virginia Place for a report of fraud. Officers met with an individual who reported their social security number had been compromised. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 6:14 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speeding.
At 10:18 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of S 1 W Street and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged compulsory auto insurance violation.
At 10:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 2 S Street and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.
Aug. 20
At 12:13 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of River View Drive and issued verbal warnings for alleged tail and brake light violations.
At 1:13 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged registration violation.
At 2:25 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Scotts Bottom and learned the occupants were in violation of curfew. Officers gathered information and issued citations to two juveniles, ages 16, of Green River, for alleged curfew violation. Parents/guardians were contacted and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9:33 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Massachusetts Street and issued the driver written warnings for alleged compulsory auto insurance and expired temporary license permit/improper registration.
At 10:52 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Trail Drive and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged taillight violation.
At 11:26 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Upland Way and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.
At 9:18 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Jensen Street and issued the driver a verbal warning for a brake light that was allegedly out.
At 10:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Schultz Street. Officers met with the individuals that were involved in a verbal dispute. As officers were gathering information, additional individuals arrived at the residence. Officers met with the individuals and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver’s breath. After a DUI investigation was completed, officers placed Teresa Kast, of Green River, under arrest for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater. Officers transported Kast to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed an incident report.
Aug. 21
At 6:57 a.m., officers responded to the area W Flaming Gorge Way and HWY 374 for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling east on HWY 374 turning left onto W Flaming Gorge Way and another vehicle was traveling west across W Flaming Gorge Way entering HWY 374 when the first vehicle struck the second vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 7:20 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged light violation.
At 7:25 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.
At 8:19 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding and a registration violation.
At 8:38 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged speeding.
At 10:47 a.m., officers responded to Probation and Parole at 140 Commerce Drive for a report of an individual with an arrest and hold order. Officers met with agents and the individual. Officers placed Kevin Hickson, of Green River, under arrest, transported Hickson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center, and completed an incident report.
At 1:55 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 2 S Street and issued the driver Pamela Pena Escalante, of Green River, citations for alleged stop sign violation and no valid driver’s license and/or violation of driver’s license conditions.
At 2:57 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 5 E Street and issued the driver Michael Robert Dunne, of Portland, Oregon, a citation for alleged speed.
At 3:48 p.m., officers responded to the area of California Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was reversing out of a driveway as a second vehicle was traveling west on California Drive. The second vehicle struck the first vehicle. Officers gathered information and issued a citation to the first driver, Seth Tankersley, of Green River, for alleged improper backing and a citation to the second driver, Dakota Miller, of Green River, for alleged expired registration. Officers completed an incident report.
At 4:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving threatening text messages, voice messages, and phone calls from an ex. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 5:51 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hutton Street for a report of a scam. Officers met with an individual who reported several websites had been hacked and items had been purchased. Officers gathered information. Report to follow.
At 6:26 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged exhibition of acceleration.
At 7:12 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged no visible registration.
At 7:56 p.m., officers responded to Probation and Parole at 140 Commerce Drive for a report of an individual with an arrest and hold order. Officers met with agents and the individual. Officers placed Amanda Stahl, of Green River, under arrest, transported Hickson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center, and completed an incident report.
At 9:17 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Teton Boulevard and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged no tail lights.
At 9:49 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged visibility distance.
At 10:16 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.
Aug. 22
At 12:03 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of MM 92 and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.
At 1:28 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of MM 92 and issued the driver a written warning for alleged vehicle registration - expired or improper registration.
At 2:01 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of MM 91 and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.
At 2:33 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of MM 92 and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.
At 6:16 a.m., officers responded to the area of Saratoga Drive for a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers met with the owner who reported their vehicle was missing from their garage. Officers sent out a county-wide BOLO for the vehicle and were later notified by RSPD that the vehicle had been located near Elk Street in Rock Springs. Detectives were assigned the investigation and an initial incident report was completed. The case is still under investigation.
At 7:58 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Anvil Drive for a report of an animal problem. Officers located the barking dog and attempted to make contact at the residence. Officers placed a phone call to the resident and left a message advising of the complaint. Officers were later contacted by an owner and responded back to the residence. Officers issued the owner, Taylor Berg, of Green River, a citation for alleged nuisance animal. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 1 p.m., officers responded to the area of Clark Street for a report of fraud. Officers met with an individual who reported they had clicked on a pop-up ad on their computer and were directed to call a customer service number. The caller asked for personal information and then stated they deposited funds in their account. The caller then requested the funds be withdrawn and deposited in another account. The individual did not complete the transaction and reported the incident to their financial institution. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 2:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Jenna Nicole Cook, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Cook to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed an incident report.
At 4:43 p.m., officers responded to the area of Conestoga Lane for a report of a larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported that two scooters had been taken from Lincoln Middle School. Officers were later notified the scooters had been recovered. Officers met with the owner and the juvenile suspect. Officers gathered information, took possession of the scooters, and completed an incident report.
At 7:43 p.m., officers responded to the area of Fall View Circle for a report of a hit-and-run collision. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle that had been parked and unoccupied. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
Aug. 23
At 7:35 a.m., officers responded to the area of Pecan Drive for a report of a suspicious circumstance. Officers met with an individual who reported that an individual rang their doorbell, then took a picture of the doorbell and their truck then left. Officers patrolled the area but did not locate anyone in the area matching the description. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 10:13 a.m., officers responded to the area of N 1 E Street for a report of a noise complaint. Officers met with an individual who reported that a neighbor was disturbing the peace. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 11:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active warrant. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Carissa M. Eaton, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Eaton to the Sweetwater County
Detention Center and completed an incident report.
At 11:29 a.m., officers responded to the area of Trona Drive and observed a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a). Officers attempted to make contact with the owner, posted a notice, and completed an incident report.
At 1:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and observed a property in violation of the City ordinance 17-1(a). Officers made contact with the owner and advised of the violation, issued a notice to abate, and completed an incident report.
At 2:12 p.m., officers responded to the area of W Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was reversing out of the parking area when the rear of the vehicle struck the front of a second vehicle, which was parked on the side of the roadway. The driver of the first vehicle, Claude T. York, of South Carolina, was issued a citation for alleged inattentive driving. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.
At 8:06 p.m., officers responded to the area of W Teton Boulevard for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported that one vehicle was traveling north on W Teton Boulevard while a second vehicle was pulling out of the Smith’s west exit when the second vehicle struck the first vehicle. The second vehicle reversed and struck the first vehicle again, then left traveling southbound. The first vehicle then left the scene as well. Officers located both vehicles. They met with the driver of the second vehicle, but were unable to make contact with the driver of the first vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed an initial incident report.
