Bill Merle Martin

Bill Merle Martin, 80, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Ivins, Utah. He was born January 21, 1943, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Ennis Berkley Martin and Dorothy Lou Peterson Martin. He was married to Lu Etta Marie Parks. They had four children, Bill Ennis, Von Doyle, Dianna Marie, and Douglas Shane. They later divorced. He married Mary Catherine Cota. They had one child, Monica. They were later divorced. He married Donna Rae Coppess. They later divorced. He married Bobette Jackson, They had four children, Vicki Lee, Ross Lyle, Ryan Philip, and Lance Terry Martin. He married Sharon Louise Conner on August 17, 1989, in Henderson, Nevada.

Bill joined the army at 17, in 1960. He served until 1974, serving in both Germany and Vietnam, as well as several places in the United States. After his military duty, Bill worked as a Deputy for both Sweetwater county, Wyoming, and Bingham county, Idaho. He worked as a painter for several years, both in Idaho and Wyoming. Bill also worked armed security for several casinos in Las Vegas and Mesquite, Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, children, Bill, Von, Dianna, Douglas, Monica, Vicki, Ross, and Lance; he is also survived by his brother, Steve Randy Martin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ennis and Dorothy Martin and his brothers Jerry, Lee, Von, and Lyle. He was also preceded by his son Ryan Phillip Martin, and his step-son, Thomas Edward Parker.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the McCammon, Idaho LDS chapel, 403 West 16th St, McCammon ID 82350. Friends and family are invited to visit for one hour preceding the service. Bill's ashes will be interred in Norwood Cemetery, McCammon, Idaho.
