Green River Police Department reports for July 16

At 3:12 p.m., officers responded to Smith’s located at 905 Bridger Drive for a report of a theft. Officers met with an individual who reported they had left their cell phone in a cart and an unknown individual had taken the phone before they could retrieve it. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats. Officers met with an individual who reported an individual was making verbal threats towards them and requested a trespass warning be issued. Officers then made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:48 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 10:31 p.m., officers responded to the area of 700 Crossbow Drive in reference to trespassing. Officers met with an individual that had been previously issued a trespass warning for the property. The individual advised they were trying to go home and reported medical concerns. Officers offered assistance, transported the individual, and completed a report of the incident.

July 17

At 12:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued a verbal warning for alleged no tail lights.

At 12:46 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not stopping at the flashing red light at the intersection of Monroe Avenue and Uinta Drive. Officers met the driver and occupants of the vehicle and detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers located multiple items of suspected drug paraphernalia and suspected marijuana. Officers ascertained two passengers had active warrants. Officers issued the driver, Aden Winders, of Green River, citations for alleged failure to maintain liability coverage, obedience to traffic-control device, and paraphernalia (possession with intent to use); and arrested both passengers, Jackson Gladue, of Green River, who had a Municipal warrant, and Chandlar Robertson, of Green River, who had a Circuit Court warrant. Officers issued Gladue and Roberston citations for alleged paraphernalia (possession with intent to use), transported both to the Sweetwater County Detention Center, and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of a nuisance property. Officers attempted to make contact at the residence, posted a notice to abate, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 10:22 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hitching Post and Rhode Island Place and issued the driver written warnings for alleged speed and no valid driver’s license or violation of driver’s license conditions. 

At 11:06 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Astle Avenue and Jensen Street and issued the driver Karry Hornsby, of Reliance, written warnings for alleged visibility distance and a citation for alleged failure to maintain liability coverage -2nd offense. 

At 11:18 p.m., officers responded to the area of Riverview Drive for a report of possible shots fired. Officers arrived in the area and observed some fireworks being set off. Officers were unable to determine where the fireworks were lit but advised the reporting party about the fireworks. 

At 11:46 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and E Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a written warning for alleged visibility distance.

July 18

At 12:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of theft. Officers met with an individual who reported their phone missing. Officers later learned the phone had been returned. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of barking dogs. Upon arriving, officers were unable to locate the barking dogs and attempted to make contact with the reporting party. Due to the early hour, no contact was made at the suspected residence. Officers completed a report of the incident and forwarded it to Animal Control. 

At 6:10 p.m., officers responded to Family Dollar at 200 UInta Drive for a report of theft. Officers met with an individual who reported losing and later recovering their wallet, but money was missing. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:55 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 400 Uinta Drive and issued a citation to the driver Yvonne Swett for alleged left turn at intersections. 

At 10:12 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and issued a written warning to the driver for an alleged headlights - (2) one on each side violation.  

At 10:39 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued a written warning to the driver for an alleged headlights - (2) one on each side violation.

July 19

At 12:56 a.m., officers observed an individual known to have an active warrant and made contact. Officers confirmed the Circuit Court warrant and placed Misty Mares, of Green River, under arrest. Mares was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and officers completed an incident report. 

At 4:57 a.m., officers responded to a traffic stop in the area of Astle Avenue and issued the driver a verbal warning.

At 5:25 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hillcrest Way and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged failure to stop.

At 5:55 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for no visible registration.

At 6 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hitching Post Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for alleged headlight and driver’s license violations. 

At 12:12 p.m., officers responded to the area of Riverview Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling south exiting the parking lot near US Bank and proceeded to turn left (east) onto Riverview Dr when it collided with another vehicle, which was traveling east on Riverview Drive. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report. 

At 1 p.m., the community service officer (CSO) observed an abandoned vehicle in the area of E 3 S Street. Officers tagged the vehicle and completed an incident report. 

At 1:28 p.m., while on routine patrol, the community service officer observed a residence on E 3 S Street that was in violation of City ordinance. The officer made contact with the property owner, advised of the violation for nuisance weeds, issued a notice to abate, and completed an incident report. 

At 2:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving an alert on their Ipad that their Apple account had been compromised and a phone number was provided for customer support. The caller requested banking information to confirm transactions and requested the individual to visit a specific website. No information was given and no monetary losses were reported. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 4:22 p.m., officers responded to Expedition Island for a report of found keys. Officers collected the keys for safekeeping and completed an incident report. 

At 7:33 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic disturbance. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 7:48 p.m., officers responded to the area of Iowa Circle for a report of a disturbance. Officers made contact with an individual who reported two individuals ding-dong-ditching their residence. Officers were able to identify the individuals and made contact. Officers advised of the complaint, gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

At 10:35 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hitching Post Drive for a report of a vehicle vs deer collision. It was reported one vehicle was driving south on Hitching Post Drive when two deer ran into the roadway. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

July 20

At 4:36 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a residence on Riverview Drive for a report of a welfare check on the dogs at that residence. Officers met with the owners of the dogs and advised them of the violations. Officers gathered information, issued a notice to abate, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 5:16 p.m., officers responded to E 4th S Street for a report of trash on the sidewalk in front of the residence. Officers made contact with the property owner, advised of the complaint, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 8:52 p.m., officers responded to W Teton Boulevard in reference to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed an incident report. 

At 9:17 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Green River Way in reference to a report of theft. Officers met with an individual who reported their ex took multiple items from their garage. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report. 

At 10:03 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged improper lane usage.

At 10:18 p.m., while out on a traffic stop, officers observed a vehicle with the driver revving the engine as they passed by officers before quickly accelerating east down Monroe Avenue. Officers approached the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle accelerated and ran the stop sign located at the corner of Monroe Avenue and E Teton Boulevard. Officers subsequently issued the driver William Damien Kaden Pfeifer, of Green River, citations for alleged stop sign violation, exhibition of acceleration, and eluding a police officer. Officers completed an incident report. 

July 21

At 12:50 a.m., officers responded to the area of Maverik located at 59 Uinta Drive in reference to a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately). Officers observed the vehicle parked behind W Flaming Gorge Way, where officers contacted the driver of the vehicle and three other occupants in the vehicle. After conducting a DWUI investigation, the driver was later found to be impaired and was arrested. Officers issued the driver Randy Deal, of Arizona, a citation for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater, transported Deal to the Sweetwater County Detention Center, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 3:32 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Crossbow Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning. 

At 7:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported being harassed and threatened by an ex. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

At 10:11 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Uinta Drive and East Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported that one vehicle was traveling east on Flaming Gorge Way and was turning left (north) onto Uinta Drive when it struck a second vehicle, which was traveling west on Flaming Gorge Way. Officers gathered information, issued the driver of the first vehicle, Theodore Gregory, of Green River, a citation for alleged obedience to traffic-control device, and completed an incident report. 

At 4:03 p.m., officers responded to the area of Elm Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. 

At 4:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats. Officers met with an individual who reported being threatened by a neighbor. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. 

At 8:18 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Expedition Island for a report of an animal at large. ACOs impounded one dog and transported it to the animal shelter. 

At 8:56 p.m., officers responded to the area of Bailey Court in Green River for a report of a fire. The fire was extinguished. It was determined the fire was accidentally started. Officers met with several individuals, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. 

July 22

At 7:54 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed. 

At 11:16 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Adams Street for a report of an animal at large. ACOs impounded one dog and transported it to the animal shelter.

At 5:31 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Scotts Bottom Road and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 9:08 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for an alleged tail lights required violation.

July 23

At 12:57 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed. 

At 3:43 a.m., officers responded to the area of Elk Valley concerning a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot. It was reported a subject was inside the vehicle and was possibly intoxicated. Officers arrived in the area and observed a vehicle matching the description given parked with a subject inside that appeared to be sleeping. Officers attempted to wake the subject inside the vehicle and after several minutes the subject awoke and then started the vehicle. Officers made contact with the subject and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Subsequently, officers placed the subject, KC Simpson, of Riverton, under arrest and issued a citation for alleged public intoxication. Officers transported Simpson to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed an incident report. 

At 10:31 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Astle Avenue and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed. 

At 11:38 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged cell phone violation.

At 3 p.m., officers responded to a residence on E 2 South Street in reference to malicious mischief. Officers met with the homeowner who reported that someone broke the windows out at both their properties. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report. 

At 7:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist. Officers met with an individual over parking issues with a neighbor. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report. 

At 8:03 p.m., officers were notified of an individual with an active warrant. Officers made contact with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Denny Demarto, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported Demarto to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. 

At 8:18 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged expired registration. 

July 24

At 6:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal altercation. Officers gathered information and called for advocate assistance. The parties were separated and officers completed an incident report.

At 8:48 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged registration violation.

At 10:57 a.m., officers responded to Probation and Patrol located at 140 Commerce Drive for a report of an individual with an active warrant. Kraig Stewart, of Jamestown, was arrested per the warrant and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed an incident report.

At 6:31 p.m., officers responded to  Medicine Bow Drive for a report of trespassing. Officers met with an individual who requested another individual be issued a trespass warning for their property. Officers met with the individuals, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:38 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for an alleged registration violation.

At 7:53 p.m., officers responded to the area of Bridger Drive for a report of a citizen assist. Officers met with individuals concerning custody issues. Officers gathered information and completed an incident report.

At 9:18 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a written warning for alleged speed.

At 9:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers met with an individual involved in a domestic disturbance and gathered information. Officers attempted to locate the other involved party and completed an incident report.
