Green River Police Department reports for June 19

At 10:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of a found juvenile. Officers met with the reporting party, the juvenile, and a parent/guardian. It was reported the juvenile was outside with their parent/guardian when the child wandered off. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive for a report of theft. Officers met with individuals who reported a firearm that had been taken by a known individual. Officers made contact with the subject, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.

At 7:04 p.m., officers responded to the area of South Carolina Drive for a report of an individual who had broken a window and was attacking staff. Officers met with the staff and the individual causing a disturbance and gathered information. EMS arrived, no charges were requested, and the individual was transported by ambulance. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:58 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Logan Street for a report of suspicious circumstances. Officers met with individuals that reported finding a “W” marked on the headlight of two of their vehicles. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

June 20

At 8:45 p.m., officers were approached by an individual who requested some information on civil issues. During the contact, officers issued the individual a trespass warning at the request of the RSPD and completed a report of the incident.

At 11:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog complaint. Officers located the residence and attempted to make contact. Officers posted a notice and completed a report of the incident, which was forwarded to Animal Control.

June 21

At 10:14 a.m., officers responded to a report of a bus light violation. Officers met with the bus driver who reported a vehicle passed the bus while the stop arm, sign, and lights were activated. Officers gathered information, met with the driver, issued a citation for alleged meeting or passing a stopped school bus to Kinley Cochrane, of Green River, and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:58 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and issued the driver a verbal warning for speeding.

At 1:26 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an individual that was attacked by a stray dog. It was reported the dog charged at the individual, and pepper spray was eventually used by the victim to deter the dog. Upon arrival, ACOs located a dog fitting the description in the front yard of a residence on Wilkes Drive. Officers met with the victim and the owner of the dog, gathered information, and subsequently issued the owner Crystal Lucero, of Green River, a citation for alleged vicious animal.

At 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a residence on E Teton Boulevard for a report of a fight between two dogs that live in the house together. Officers met with the owner of the dogs and gathered information. One of the dogs was taken to the animal shelter. Officers completed a report of the incident and forwarded it to ACOs.

At 10:06 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and Shoshone Avenue and issued the driver, Errin Huntington, of Green River, a citation for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration and a warning for an alleged tail light violation.

At 11:18 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Monroe Avenue and E Teton Boulevard and issued the driver Dale Leroux, of Rawlins, a citation for alleged DWUS and a warning for an alleged headlight violation.

At 11:55 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uinta Drive and Evans Street and issued the driver a warning for an alleged high beam violation.

June 22

At 9:29 a.m., officers responded to the Bus Barn at 200 Monroe for a report of a bus light violation. Officers met with staff who reported a vehicle that passed a parked bus while the lights and stop arm were activated. Officers gathered information and met with the driver. Officers issued a citation to Elizabeth Seilstad, of Green River, for allegedly meeting or passing a stopped school bus and completed a report of the incident. 

At 12:42 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Shoshone Avenue for a report of suspicious activity. Officers met with an individual who reported a rope that holds their gate shut had been tampered with, letting the dogs out of the yard. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:11 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a dog bite in the area of the splash park. Officers met with the reporting party who reported that an individual was bitten by a stray dog and the dog was with the owner at the park. Officers located the dog and met with the owner. The dog was impounded for a 10-day hold due to no proof of a Rabies vaccination. Report to follow.

At 2:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Monroe Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Officers made contact with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:29 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Blake Street on a vehicle with no visible registration. The juvenile driver was later found to not have a valid driver’s license and was in possession of tobacco. The driver, along with two other juvenile occupants, were not wearing seatbelts. Subsequently, citations for alleged driver’s license required, minor in possession of tobacco, and seat belt required were issued to the juvenile driver, age 16, of Green River. Alleged seat belt required citations were issued to the juvenile passengers, ages 16 and 15, of Green River. All juveniles were released after a parent/guardian was contacted, then officers completed a report of the incident.

At 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the Smiths parking lot located at 905 Bridger Drive. It was reported that the vehicle, which was facing west, pulled forward out of the parking spot and then turned left to head toward the exit of the parking lot when the vehicle struck a light pole. Officers gathered information; issued the driver, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash; and completed a report of the incident.

June 23

At 9:07 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an individual in possession of a baby coyote. Officers met with the individuals, observed the coyote pup, and gathered information. Officers advised on the City ordinance regarding the possession of wild animals. The coyote will be re-homed outside city limits or surrendered to Animal Control. Officers completed a report of the incident and will follow up.

At 10:10 a.m., officers responded to a report of property damage. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to the windshield of their vehicle. Officers observed the damage, gathered information, and completed an incident report.

At 3:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of a scam. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be with Rocky Mountain Power asking for funds to be sent due to problems with their automatic billing system. Monetary losses were reported. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
