Lady Wolves soccer beats Lyman, falls to Mountain View and Lander

The Green River Lady Wolves played a home conference game against the Lyman Lady Eagles on Friday.

Head Coach Matt Robles feels the girls played very well against Lyman. Green River had multiple goals scored by Isabel Vasco, Jayla Braden and Jazlynn Hunt.

"We moved the ball well and made Lyman chase the ball for good portions of the game," said Coach Robles.

The Lady Wolves won the game with a final score of 7-3.

On Saturday, the Lady Wolves played another home conference game against the Mountain View Lady Buffalos.

"It was a frustrating game," explained Coach Robles. "We played well offensively but the ball just couldn't find the net."

Green River fought for the win and had the bulk of the shots, but the girls were a little bit off frame and then gave up two unlucky goals, ending the game. Leading the team with one goal was Isabel Vasco. Green River lost the game with a final score of 1-2.

On Tuesday, Green River played a conference match against Lander. It was also senior recognition night. The seniors honored included Cadin Reyes, Vanessa Valerio, Dalya Salcedo, Alexa Alatorre and manager Estrella Armijo. The Lady Wolves and the Lady Tigers were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation, but Green River fell to Lander in a shootout, with a final score of 4-5.

On Friday, the Lady Wolves will travel to Pinedale to play a conference game against the Lady Wranglers.
