Green River Police Department reports for March 12 - 19

March 12

At 10:17 a.m., officers and Animal Control Officers responded to a report of an injured deer. Officers were advised to dispatch the deer due to a warden not being available. Officers dispatched the deer and ACOs removed and disposed of the carcass. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 2:31 p.m., officers responded to The Ponderosa Bar at 41 E Railroad Avenue concerning a trespassing and a possible assault. Officers met with the bar owner and an individual who reported a subject who had been previously trespassed from the bar, came into the bar, and was involved in an altercation with the individual. Officers located and met with the subject. Officers issued a citation to Angie Leasor, of Green River, for alleged trespassing, gathered information and completed reports of the incidents.

March 13

At 3:03 p.m., officers responded to the Union Pacific rail yard located at 200 E Railroad Avenue in reference to an individual dancing and running on the railroad tracks. Officers met with the UPRR manager and the individual. Officers subsequently placed Sonia Salcedo, of Lyman, under arrest and issued citations for alleged open container and trespassing. Officers transported Salcedo to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. 

At 3:36 p.m., Animal Control officers impounded a cat in a trap at the Green River Animal Shelter and issued the owner Thomas Jackman, of Green River, a citation for alleged animal at large.

At 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the GRPD lobby to empty the prescription drug drop off box. Officers collected 9.55 lbs of medications, booked them in for destruction, and completed a report of the incident.

March 14

At 11:37 a.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a barking dog in the area of Wyoming Drive. Officers located the residence and made contact with the owner and issued a verbal warning.

At 11:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported that a license plate was stolen off their vehicle while it was parked on West Flaming Gorge Way in the parking lot. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

March 15

At 12:44 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving harassing messages. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:50 a.m., officers responded to a residence on N 2 E Street for a report of property damage. Officers met with the resident who advised they heard a loud banging on their door and then found the interior glass window to their living room to be broken. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 2:01 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence and met with the individuals involved in an altercation. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:51 a.m., officers responded to Evans Street for a report of a citizen assist. Officers met with an individual who reported personal concerns. Officers offered assistance and completed a report of the incident.

At 1:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal altercation with a neighbor. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:11 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of N 4 W Street and West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers issued the driver a written warning for alleged turn signals required violation.

March 16

At 12:08 p.m., officers along with an underage buyer conducted tobacco compliance checks on local establishments that sell tobacco. All of the businesses checked were in compliance. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 12:54 p.m., officers responded to Probation and Parole at 140 Commerce Drive for a report of an individual with an active Arrest and Sanction Order. Officers met with the agents and the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Nathaniel Zimmerly, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the active order. Officers transported Zimmerly to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

March 17

At 1:16 a.m., officers responded to the area of Riverview Drive for a report of a barking dog. Officers located the barking dog in the backyard of a residence on Riverview and made contact with the resident. Officers advised of the complaint, issued a verbal warning, and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unattended death. Officers along with detectives and the Coroner gathered information. The coroner transported the body and officers completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation. No suspicious circumstances are suspected. 

March 18

At 12:03 p.m., officers responded to the area of 420 Wilkes Drive parking lot for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported the first vehicle, which was facing south, and the second vehicle, which was facing north, began to reverse out of their parking spaces and the rear of the vehicles collided. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 3:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:31 p.m., officers responded to the Cumorah Way area for a disturbance report. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal dispute with a neighbor. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:23 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Jefferson Street for a report of animal cruelty. Officers met with an individual who expressed concerns for the animals at the residence. Officers gathered information, attempted to contact the resident, completed a report of the incident, and forwarded the information to Animal Control.

At 11:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of W Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a REDDI report. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop for allegedly driving on the wrong side of the roadway and not maintaining a single lane of travel. Officers met with the driver and detected an odor of an alcoholic-based beverage coming from inside the vehicle. Officers subsequently placed Denis Ronaly Ronaly Montes-Lainez, of Texas, under arrest and issued citations for alleged DWUI - alcohol .08 or greater, improper lane use, and crossing the center line. Officers transported Montes-Lainez to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

March 19

At 3:38 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Colorado Drive for a report of three individuals who suddenly became ill. Officers along with GRFD responded. C02 was detected and the individuals were evacuated from the residence. The individuals were transported to the hospital. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 4:15 a.m., officers responded to the Colorado Circle area for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported both vehicles were parked in front of a residence and as one vehicle went to leave it struck the passenger side mirror of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
