Boys fall to Rock Springs, celebrate win against Kelly Walsh

The Wolves had two games this past week on Green River's home court. Their first game was on Thursday, February 2 against the Rock Springs Tigers. We always love rivalry games and the energy in the gym. Unfortunately, the boys lost to Rock Springs 54-60.

"The Wolves out-rebounded the Tigers, but the difference in the game was the foul line," said Head Coach Laurie Ivie.

Rock Springs shot 24 free throws and the Wolves only shot 10, which was definitely an advantage the Tigers had.

Kason Ivie had a phenomenal game on Thursday against the Tigers. He shot 86% from the 3-point line, hitting six 3s before halftime. Kason ended the game with 20 points, four rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

Theran Archibald also played a great game with 15 points, six rebounds, and two assists, while Chris Wilson had eight points and one rebound. Even though the Wolves did not win this game, they played very well and with a lot of intensity.

The Wolves played Kelly Walsh on Saturday and this time they came out on top. The ending score of that night was 77-75. It was a very intense game and the boys played really well together.

"Theran Archibald was our glue guy," explained Coach Ivie. "He had a season-high 35 points, eight rebounds, three assists, a steal, and he was perfect from the free throw line, five for five."

He also sealed the win for the Wolves with a huge "and-1" to win it with five seconds left in the game.

Chris Wilson also led the team with 22 points and four rebounds, along with Caleb Lake with 11 points, four rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Wolves will be traveling this weekend for their next games. This Friday they will be going to Riverton and Saturday they will be headed to Cody.
