Nelda Jane Hansen Schrepfer

Nelda Jane Hansen Schrepfer passed away peacefully in her sleep Feb. 1, 2023.

She was born in Jewell County Kansas Sept. 28, 1939 to Lyman Donald Hansen and Janice Annetta Liles Hansen.

She married John C. Schrepfer June 29, 1974 in Brighton, Colorado. They moved to Green River in 1975 to make their home. She had 3 children from a previous marriage that she and John raised together; Sarina McCord of Green River, James Stuart Simmons of Reliance and Melissa Simmons of Green River.

Nelda was Grandma to 6 grandchildren; Correy, Courtney, Bobbie Lea, Sarah, Jonathan & Serena. She was "Grandmama/Gigi" to 11 great grandchildren; Ava, Kosta, A.J., Alastair, Aria, Finn, Hadley Jane, Archey, Patrick, Alexia & Ariyah. She had many bonus children in Green River, from the friends of her children to those she took care of as a babysitter. Nelda was a kind, loving, gentle woman. She was loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband John; children Sarina, Stuart & Melissa; brother Donald (Edie) of Wilson, KS; sister Joni Law (E.D.) of Wilson, KS; her 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Claudene Ryden and brother-in-law Darrell Ryden.

As per her request, there will be no services. Cremation will take place.
