Green River Police Department reports for Jan. 25
At 7:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to a barking dog complaint on Greasewood Street. Officers made contact with the reporting party who reported the barking as an ongoing issue. Upon arrival, officers heard dogs barking and observed them at the residence. Officers attempted to make contact at the residence, posted a notice, and completed a report of the incident then forwarded the case to Animal Control.
Jan. 26
At 10:33 a.m., officers responded to the GRPD at 375 W Flaming Gorge Way to meet with an individual requesting a trespass order be issued to an individual for their property. Since the subject is currently confined at the Sweetwater County Detention Center, officers made contact with SCSO deputies, advised of the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats/harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported another individual was taking their photographs without their permission. Officers met with the other individual, gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 27
At 7:32 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Cedar Circle for a report of a hit and run. Officers met with an individual who advised that someone had hit their fence and flag pole. Officers gathered information and located the suspected vehicle. Officers met with the driver and issued Raymond Yarling, of Green River, a citation for alleged speed too fast for conditions. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 11:51 a.m., officers responded to the Bus Barn at 320 Monroe Ave in reference to a bus light violation. Officers met with the transportation supervisor who provided a video of the violation. Officers made contact with multiple drivers and issued citations for alleged meeting or passing stopped school bus to Justin Snyder; Joshua Dean; and a juvenile, age 17; all of Green River.
At 1:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a parking violation. Officers observed two vehicles in violation of City ordinance, attempted to make contact with an owner, and then tagged the vehicles. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of Wilson Street in reference to a report of a hit and run crash that resulted in property damage. Officers observed damage to a fence along with two postal service mailboxes that had been struck and pushed back. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 28
At 4:32 p.m., officers responded to a residence to serve an active warrant. Viola Oakley, of Green River, was placed under arrest, and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:57 p.m., officers, while on patrol, observed a vehicle initiate a turn, hit a curb then park in the parking lot at Alta Convenience Store at 1050 W Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with the driver and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Officers subsequently placed Donalea Miller, of Green River, under arrest and issued citations for alleged DWUI - alcohol of .08 or more - 3rd offense within 10 years, interference with peace officer - interferes or resists arrest, failure to provide proof of liability insurance, and driving on right side of roadway. Officers transported Miller to the Sweetwater County Detention Center.
At 6:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. One vehicle was parked on the east side of the building at the Horse Palace. A second vehicle pulled up behind the first vehicle. The second vehicle did not stop in time and the front bumper struck the rear bumper of the first vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:28 p.m., officers responded to the Maverik store located at 59 Uinta Drive for a report of a possible drunk driver (REDDI). Officers located a vehicle matching the description parked crooked in a parking spot and initiated a field contact with the occupants inside the vehicle. Officers met with the driver and observed an open beer bottle in the center console of the vehicle and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and the driver’s breath. Subsequently, officers placed Mark Schultz, of Green River, under arrest and issued a citation for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater. Officers transported Schultz to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 29
At 4:14 p.m., officers responded to Cumorah Way in reference to a subject removal. Officers met with individuals concerning another individual that was acting erratic. All parties agreed they would handle the situation personally but officers were called back a second time and the individual was transported by ambulance. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 9:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a prior physical domestic. Officers were advised the parties involved were separated and the male half had left the residence and returned to Rock Springs. Officers made contact with both parties, gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 11:48 p.m., officers responded to the area of Wilderness Trail for a report of a loud bang noise. Officers contacted several people in the area, but could not determine where the sound came from. Officers cleared and no further incident was reported.
Jan. 30
At 10:18 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Travelodge at 1170 West Flaming Gorge for a report of larceny. Officers met with an individual who reported a red Eskimo ice fishing tent missing that had possibly been stolen from the back of their truck. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:46 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unattended death. Officers assisted EMS personnel and the Coroner, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. No suspicious circumstances are suspected.
At 2:50 p.m., officers responded to the Family Dollar at 200 Uinta Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision in the parking lot with no injuries. It was reported one vehicle was parked facing north and the driver began to back out of the parking space as a second vehicle was traveling west and conducting a southbound turn in the parking lot. The rear of the first vehicle struck the rear passenger side of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:56 p.m., officers were advised of a domestic violence incident that occurred in Rock Springs and the suspect was headed back to Green River and was possibly intoxicated.
At 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of S 5th E Street in regards to Rock Springs Police Department requiring assistance in locating an individual that was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. Officers observed a vehicle that matched the vehicle description traveling west bound and pulled into a parking area. Officers made contact with the driver and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and subsequently placed Clay Cudney, of Green River, under arrest for alleged DWUI - child passenger - 1st offense. Officers transported Cudney to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 31
At 12:07 p.m., officers responded to E Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported both vehicles were traveling westbound on E Flaming Gorge Way when the first vehicle struck the second vehicle from behind. EMS responded to evaluate the drivers. No transports were made. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:41 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot at Green River High School at 1615 Hitching Post Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported both vehicles were traveling east in the alleyway exiting the parking lot when the first vehicle struck the second vehicle from behind. Officers gathered information, issued a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash to a juvenile, 16, of Green River, and completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 1
At 11:44 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with both parties involved who stated they had been in a heated argument. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 1:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Officers met with the reporting party who advised an acquaintance had come into their place of work and caused a disturbance. The other party had departed prior to officer arrival. The reporting party advised they did not want officers to contact the other party, and they just wanted the incident documented. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 2:32 p.m., officers responded to a civil standby. While conducting the civil standby one of the involved parties located drug paraphernalia and turned it over to officers. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 4:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of nuisance property. Officers met with the reporting party who advised that a neighbor had overflowing trash cans and trash on the ground around the trash cans. Officers attempted to make contact with the property owner but were unsuccessful. Officers left a door hanger for the property owner advising of the nuisance and completed a report of the incident.
At 8:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism of a vehicle where someone put snow in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers met with the reporting party and gathered their statement. The reporting party advised they thought it may be a neighbor who had put the snow in the vehicle. Officers attempted to make contact with the neighbor but were unsuccessful at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident. This case is still under investigation.
Feb. 2
At 12:44 p.m., officers responded to the area of California Drive for a report of an animal at large and issued the owner Lisa Christen, of Green River, a citation for alleged animal at large.
At 5:36 p.m., officers responded to the Green River Chamber parking lot at 1155 W Flaming Gorge Way for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was backing out of a parking space when the rear of the vehicle struck the rear of a second vehicle which was parked in the driving alley of the parking lot. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in an altercation. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 3
At 10:40 a.m., officers responded to Maverik at 59 Uinta Drive for a report of two individuals who took multiple items from the store. Officers met with the manager who provided officers with descriptions of the individuals and the vehicle they left in. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.
At 6:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. While in the area, officers located the female half walking. Other officers responded to the residence, met with the male half, and while on scene observed suspected drug paraphernalia. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed Anthony Norton, of Green River, under arrest for alleged strangulation of household member - pressure on neck or throat; domestic battery - 1st offense; and unlawful possession - plant form < 3 ounces - 1st offense. Officers transported Norton to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 8:12 p.m., officers were notified of an individual with an active warrant. Officers confirmed the warrant and placed Haylie Hart, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Hart to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 4
At 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a subject walking down the street with a gun. Officers canvassed the area, contacted several individuals in the area, then were able to locate the subject and make contact. Officers were able to confirm the subject did not have a weapon in their possession. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:09 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Uinta Drive and issued the driver Erika Gasperetti, of Green River, a citation for allegedly speeding.
At 9:55 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Hitching Post Drive for a vehicle that was speeding. Officers issued the driver Linda Heatherman, of Green River, a citation for alleged compulsory auto insurance violation - 1st offense.
At 11:22 a.m., officers and GRFD were dispatched to Fawn Circle for a report of a house fire. Officers met with home owners and assured there was no one else inside the residence. EMS arrived and evaluated two patients for smoke inhalation and minor burns. One of the individuals was transported to the Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released later that day. GR firefighters fought and extinguished the fire to the house and the neighboring camper trailer. GRFD reported, after the investigation, it was found that the fire started in the garage where a vehicle was being worked on and a heater was to blame for ignition. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 5
At 12:29 a.m., officers responded to W Flaming Gorge Way in reference to a fireworks complaint and possible disturbance. Officers met with and separated the parties, advised the individuals of the municipal firework ordinance, and cleared the scene. Around 2:26 a.m., officers returned back to the Western Inn for an additional complaint regarding a disturbance. Officers again met with the individuals, advised them on disturbing the peace and public intoxication, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.
At 1:21 a.m., officers responded to the Ponderosa Bar at 41 E Railroad Ave in reference to a reported assault. Officers interviewed the individuals involved in the altercation and ensured the parties would be separated for the evening. Neither party wanted to press charges. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
