Boys and Girls take 3rd at Lander Invite

The Green River High School Girls and Boys Wrestling teams competed this past Friday and Saturday at the Lander Valley High School Invite. There were twenty-five teams for the boys and seven teams for the girls. The teams that competed include Big Piney, Buffalo, Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne South, Cody, Cokeville, Douglas, Dubois, Green River, Greybull/Riverside, Jackson, Kemmerer, Lander, Laramie, Lyman, Mountain View, Pinedale, Powell, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Saratoga, Thermopolis, Torrington, Wind River, Worland and Wyoming Indian.

The girls' program, in just their first year competing in high school wrestling, had six girls participating in the tournament for Green River.

Head Coach Josh Wisniewski commented: "We wrestled well this weekend and are continuing to improve. The wrestlers are looking forward to the Ron Thon next weekend in Riverton."

The Coach continued: "It will be a great challenge to see where we are at and our last tournament until regionals and state. We will have some duals in between that time."
