Bleeding green for the cause

Green River Police Chief Tom Jarvie was one of many Green River residents who showed up to the Recreation Center Tuesday afternoon to donate blood for the annual high school blood drive challenge. Every year the Green River and Rock Springs high schools compete to see who can donate more blood. Green River not only won last year's blood drive against Rock Springs, but also donated the most blood of any school in the state, donating a total of 295 pints of blood. The winner of this year's blood drive will be announced during the Green River vs. Rock Springs basketball game Thursday, Feb. 2.
