Green River Police Department reports for Jan. 3
At 8:26 a.m., officers responded along with EMS personnel for a report of an individual who was unresponsive. Officers attempted life saving measures but the individual was pronounced deceased. Officers contacted the coroner and detectives, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident, which is still under investigation.
At 12:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals who reported an assault, gathered information, made contact with the other involved individual, and completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 4
At 12:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported the vehicle was traveling west on Upland Way when it drifted slightly off path and struck a large pile of snow with the passenger side front bumper, causing damage to the bumper. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 4:04 p.m., officers responded to Iowa Circle for a report of property damage. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their fence and after looking at video footage determined the damage was from a semi truck that had backed into the fence. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 8:59 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver, Chase Young, 37, of Green River, a citation for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration.
Jan. 5
At 5:16 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Uinta Drive and Riverview Drive for a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was heading north on Uinta Drive, attempting to turn left (west) onto Riverview Drive. The vehicle was in the left turn lane. A second vehicle was heading southbound in the left (east) lane. The first vehicle attempted to turn left and it and the second vehicle collided in the intersection. The front passenger side of the second vehicle contacted the passenger side of the first vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident and issued the driver of the first vehicle, a juvenile, 17, of Green River, for alleged inattentive driving with a crash.
At 10:05 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hitching Post Drive and issued the driver, Placido Mena Guerrero, 23, of Green River, a citation for alleged expired temporary license permit/improper registration.
Jan. 6
At 2:42 a.m., officers, while on normal patrol in the area of Scott’s Bottom Road, observed tracks in the snow leaving the roadway into several feet of buckrail fence. Officers located several pieces of broken vehicle parts, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:10 a.m., officers responded to 916 Upland Way (Pawsitive Vibes) in reference to an individual being bitten while attempting to groom a dog. Officers met with the owner who reported being bitten. Officers gathered information and, due to the dog not being current on its Rabies vaccination, took the dog to the GR Animal Shelter for a 10-day Rabies quarantine. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 4:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling eastbound and was stopped at the intersection of Uinta Drive and E 2nd S Street. Another vehicle was traveling south on Uinta Drive approaching E 2 S Street. As the first vehicle entered the intersection, the second vehicle was unable to stop and slid into the intersection, colliding with the first vehicle. Officers gathered information and issued the driver of the second vehicle, Kaeden Starr, 18, of Green River, a citation for alleged speed too fast for conditions.
At 6:13 p.m., officers while on patrol observed damage to the railing just north of the Underpass on the east side of the roadway. It appeared that a vehicle, possibly driving southbound on S 4th E Street approaching the UPRR Underpass, left the roadway and struck the sidewalk railing, causing damages. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 9:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers met with a parent/guardian, gathered information and attempted to locate the juvenile. The juvenile later returned home and was ok. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 7
At 1:05 p.m., officers, while on patrol, discovered a vehicle slide-off in Stratton Myers Park. Officers met with the driver who was in the process of towing the vehicle out of the ditch. It was reported the vehicle was traveling southbound negotiating a curve in the road and the vehicle slid off the right side of the road into the ditch. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 4:26 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver Marcos Molina, 19, of Green River, a citation for alleged compulsory auto insurance violation.
At 6:25 p.m., officers responded to 905 Bridger Drive (Smiths) for a report of a two-vehicle collision. Officers met with the owner of the second vehicle who reported the collision. It was reported that the first vehicle slid into the side of the second vehicle while attempting to park in a parking space adjacent to the second vehicle. Officers located the driver of the first vehicle, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 8
At 1:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision. It was reported the vehicle was traveling southbound on N 4 W Street when it crashed into the brick retaining wall at the Underpass. EMS was called to evaluate the driver. No transports were made. Officers met with the driver, detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage, and subsequently placed Michaela Brice under arrest for alleged DWUI. Officers transported Brice to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 3:09 a.m., officers responded to the area of Essex Street concerning a report of possible shots fired. Officers learned that several other people in the area had heard the shots including individuals on Monroe Avenue. Officers canvassed the areas but were unable to locate the source of the possible gunshots. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:51 p.m., officers responded to a REDDI report. Officers observed the vehicle and made contact with the driver. Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver’s breath. Officers gathered information and subsequently arrested the driver, Michael Moeller, 48, of Rock Springs, for alleged DWUI. Officers transported Moeller to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
