Wolves swimmers take third at Green River Invite

The Green River Wolves Swimming and Diving team had a great weekend in the pool. Facing aggressive teams from the other side of the state, the boys had strong finishes and ended the meet in third place. Head Coach Colleen Seiloff was pleased with the results from Friday and Saturday. The swimmers are continuing to work hard at practices and they are cutting personal times. She feels they are getting better and being really competitive. The Wolves picked up three more qualifiers during the Green River Invite.

Brady Young finished first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle event. It is a demanding event, but his endurance remained steady and it really showed in his performance.

"I am really impressed with him," said Seiloff. To start off the season with 5:04.05 in the 500 event is really great. Young has become an all-around swimmer this year.

Another top finisher was diver Braxton Cordova. He placed first in the One-Meter Diving event and received high points in all of his dives.

"We are really lucky to have this group of divers," said Seiloff. "They are awesome and some of the best in the state."

Green River has great divers this year and that is going to help raise their points at competitions. Kyle Kight and Keegan Gailey also had solid performances.

"It's so fun watching the boys as they mature. Mentally they are more focused and then their coordination comes and it all comes together. They are able to do things they weren't able to do before," added Seiloff. "That's the fun thing about coaching boys."

The Wolves will be taking a short break for the Christmas holiday and then they will be traveling to Laramie next Thursday for the two-day Laramie Invite.
