To start out their week of competition, the Lady Wolves played the Evanston Red Devils. The matches were definitely intense. There were so many great rallies and plays but the Lady Wolves didn't have the best of luck.
In the first match, they had a great start with a kill. The team had high energy and great intensity. With the great start, the Evanston Red Devils started to panic and made some silly mistakes. But after a time out called by one of the coaches, there was a complete change on the court. The Lady Wolves now started to make some mistakes and fell behind quickly. The third match was definitely the most intense one of them all. They started out a little slow, but got it turned back around pretty quick, getting point after point with lots of smart plays by the hitters and the setter, Mia Rosas. Then there was an unlucky turn of events and they fell behind. But with some amazing serves, they tied it up 16-16. With another intense rally that they sadly lost, the Lady Wolves got a little discouraged and lost the third match just shortly behind.
The ladies were not fortunate enough to bag another win in the fourth match. They started to shut down pretty early and it was difficult for them to get out of that mindset. With some come back they didn't fall too far behind but got unlucky with some of the plays, and their confidence level went down. It was an unfortunate finish for the Lady Wolves against the Evanston Red Devils. There were some very strong rallies and hard work coming from both teams. Green River played four intense matches and gave a really strong fight. They played with so much heart and didn't give up on the game.
