The Green River High School volleyball team headed to Casper last week to take on Kelly Walsh High School, a team that remains undefeated and ranked first in the state after defeating the Lady Wolves in their conference match.
The Lady Wolves fought back but couldn't keep up, and Kelly Walsh ended up beating them in all three sets, with scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-10.
"Kelly Walsh was a very good volleyball team," Head Coach Jessica Demaret said. "There is a reason they are ranked number one in the state. The girls played pretty well for the caliber of team they were up against. It's important for them to remember that one game can't erase all of our hard work up until this point. We just have to keep moving forward this week and hopefully bounce back with our games coming up."
Today Green River is hitting the road to take on Evanston at 6 p.m., and tomorrow the Lady Wolves will be back for the Homecoming game against Jackson Hole. The Freshmen will play at 2 p.m., the Junior Varsity team at 3 p.m., and the Varsity team at 4 p.m.
Coach Demaret encouraged Green River fans to show up to support the volleyball team before heading to the Homecoming football game after.
