Tennis teams improving with busy week

The Green River Girls and Boys Tennis Teams concluded a busy week as they traveled to Rock Springs Tuesday for a make up meet, took on Torrington High School in Laramie Wednesday, and played Cheyenne South in Cheyenne Friday before having two meets Saturday in Cheyenne with Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central postponed until next week. The meets will now take place some time before Regionals in Rock Springs, which is scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

During the week, the young, rapidly-improving girls team ended with eight wins and seven losses against their three opponents, while the veteran boys team went 14-1. The girls were defeated by Rock Springs four matches to one, but three of the losses came on some competitive matches with close scores.

The boys dominated their opponents, winning all five matches. On Wednesday in Laramie the girls won 3-2, with both of the matches lost having some close scores. The boys had a couple of tougher matches but still managed to prevail 5-0 over Torrington.

Finally, on Friday the girls won big over Cheyenne South 4-1 as they continued to improve. The Boys also won 4-1 to finish off the busy week with the cancelation of the two matches on Saturday. Coach Harder noted that he is "excited for the kids preparing for Regionals this week."
