Green River Police Department reports for Aug. 9
At 8:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Uinta Drive. It was reported two vehicles were traveling northbound on Uinta Drive when a deer began to cross in front of the vehicle in front. As the vehicle stopped, the other vehicle collided with the rear of the first vehicle. Officers met with the drivers, gathered information and issued the driver of the second vehicle, Zachary Musbach, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash. Officers completed a report of the incident. No transports were made.
At 10:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
Aug. 10
At 1:34 a.m., officers and GRFD personnel responded to a report of a fire in front of a residence on Schultz Street. Officers observed a hole that had been dug with a fire burning inside. Officers met with the resident, who then extinguished the fire. The individual was advised that a manufactured fire pit is required. Officers ascertained the individual had an active warrant and was placed under arrest. Officers transported Alfredo Valdez-Amaro, of Green River, to the detention center and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Virginia Circle. Officers met with an individual who requested a trespass warning be issued for their property. Officers made contact with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.
At 9 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Wilson Street. Officers met with the individuals involved in a verbal dispute, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist on North Center Street. Officers met with several individuals over civil matters, offered assistance, and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:47 p.m., officers emptied the prescription medication drop off box in the lobby, booked in the medications for safekeeping and future destruction, and completed a report of the incident.
At 4:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Commerce Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported damage to multiple air conditioning units. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 4:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active arrest & hold order. Officers made contact with the individual, verified the active order, and placed Manual Salcido, of Rock Springs, under arrest. Officers transported Salcido to the detention center and completed a report of the incident.
Aug. 11
At 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Wilson Street. Officers met with an individual who reported an individual, posing as a known contact, contacted them through social media and requested funds. Monetary losses were reported. Officers gathered information and completed the report of the incident.
At 2:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Wyoming Embroidery & Sporting Goods. Officers met with the store owner who reported items being stolen from the store. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 11:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at Stratton Myers Park. It was reported the vehicle was traveling north on a gravel road and swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, when the driver lost control of the vehicle which caused the vehicle to slide, leave the ground, and flip over. Officers met with the driver, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, and their parent or guardian. Officers gathered information, released the juvenile to their parent or guardian, and completed a report of the incident.
Aug. 12
At 11:12 a.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at the underpass. Officers met with an individual who reported a vehicle following them and tailgating. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 11:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a violation of a no contact order on Knotty Pine Street. Officers met with individuals, conducted a civil standby, and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:43 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on West Flaming Gorge Way. It was reported one vehicle was parked with a second vehicle directly behind it. As the driver of the first vehicle began to reverse the vehicle it struck the front of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information, issued the driver of the first vehicle, Macey Montoya, of Green River, a citation for alleged improper backing, and completed a report of the incident.
At 1:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported stalking and had questions about obtaining a protection order. Officers offered assistance, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 11:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog complaint on Kentucky Street. Officers located the barking dog and made contact with an owner, advised of the complaint, completed a report of the incident, and forwarded it to Animal Control.
Aug. 13
At 11:04 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Uinta Drive. It was reported one vehicle was parked in a parking space facing east and a second vehicle was in a space facing north. The first vehicle rolled forward and struck the rear of the second vehicle. Officers met with the driver of the first vehicle, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.
At 8:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Jensen Street. It was reported one vehicle was backing out of a driveway and as the vehicle pulled forward the front passenger side struck the rear driver’s side of a second vehicle. Officers met with the driver of the first vehicle, gathered information, and issued the driver, a juvenile, age 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Aug. 14
At 1:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a loud noise on East 4th South Street. Officers met with several individuals in the area who reported hearing a suspected gun shot. It was learned several houses in the area had lost power. Officers notified the power company and were told they were aware of the outage.
At 8:59 p.m., officers responded to a report in reference to shoplifting at Smith’s. Officers met with a manager who reported that an individual took a bottle of liquor without paying for it and requested a trespass warning be issued to the suspect. Officers identified and made contact with the suspect. The bottle of liquor was paid for and officers issued a trespass warning, then completed a report of the incident.
At 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a fight on East Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with several individuals regarding the altercation. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed Andriy Kmyta, of New Jersey, under arrest for alleged public intoxication, transported Kmyta to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report.
