Knights B team split games with Rock Springs

The Green River Knights B team took on the Rock Springs B team Thursday, July 7 in Green River, taking the lead in the fifth inning and coming up with a 5-3 victory. Pitching for the Knights was Brackin Lail who surrendered three runs on five hits during five innings and struck out five players. Lander Welch, Lail, Kamden Liebelt, Dawson Peterson and James Hartman all had one hit to help the Knights take the lead. Peterson led the Knights with two stolen bases and the rest of the team stole four more bases during the game.

In the second game against Rock Springs, the Knights came up short defensively and they took a 18-3 loss. The Knights’ pitcher Dreux Smith struggled through five innings, allowing ten runs on seven hits and striking out four. Peterson and Liebelt assisted in pitching the last two innings. The B team had six hits during the game. Oliver Akin and Welch collected multiple hits. Akin stole two bases during the game and they had a total of six stolen bases.

The Knights B team will play Rock Springs again today and the winning team will be the winner of the Southwest B Conference.
