Green River Police Department reports for May 10
At 10:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of a student being in possession of a tobacco vaping device at Expedition Academy High School. Officers met with school administration and the student, gathered information, and issued the student, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged use or possession of tobacco by a minor - third offense.
At 1:36 p.m., officers while in the area of the Buck’n Bar located a bank card on the ground. Officers attempted to locate an owner, booked the card in for safekeeping, and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of two dogs at large acting aggressive on Idaho Street. Officers attempted to locate the dogs, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident.
May 11
At 8:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an active arrest warrant. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant and placed Robby Stevenson under arrest. Stevenson was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 10:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of property damage on Trona Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle, the mailbox and a light fixture. Officers gathered information, attempted to locate the suspect, and completed a report of the incident.
May 12
At 10:41 a.m., officers responded to a report of a physical altercation. It was reported the male half had left the residence in a vehicle. Officers met with an individual who reported the altercation and gathered information. Officers located the vehicle pulling into a parking lot and made contact with the driver. Officers subsequently issued the driver, Trajan Mcquitty, of Green River, citations for alleged no valid driver’s license, failure to provide proof of liability coverage, and driving without interlock device - first offense. Officers gathered statements and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 10:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of violation of a court order at the Town Bar and Grill. Officers met with an individual over concerns of a violation of a protection order. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
May 13
At 8:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a dog bite on Windriver Drive. It was reported an individual was out walking and was bitten multiple times by a dog. Officers met with the owner who surrendered the dog to animal control. Officers issued a citation for alleged animal license required violation to Kyle Bohlmann of Green River.
At 9:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a citizen assist reported at the GRPD lobby. Officers met with an individual who had concerns about harassment, gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 2:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center and the Villa. It was reported one vehicle was stopped waiting to turn left onto Uinta Drive and a second vehicle was traveling northeast on Uinta Drive in the right-hand lane when the first vehicle pulled out, turning left, past a parked truck that was obstructing the view of traffic. The second vehicle swerved to avoid the collision but the front bumper of the first vehicle struck the rear quarter panel of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 2:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Shoshone Avenue and Hitching Post Drive. It was reported one vehicle was traveling behind another, both vehicles approaching the intersection. The second vehicle slowed to make a left-hand turn and the first vehicle struck the rear of the second vehicle. Officers gathered information and issued the driver of the first vehicle, a juvenile, 17, of Green River a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash.
May 15
At 12:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats. Officers met with several individuals who were involved. All parties had separated themselves before police arrived on-scene and parties agreed to remain separated for the remainder of the evening. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 9:38 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats. Officers met with an individual who reported a physical altercation with an individual who had made threats towards them. Officers met with the individual, gathered information, and subsequently placed the juvenile, 17, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported the juvenile to the Sweetwater Detention Center. At 10:51 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at Maverick. It was reported a semi hit a metal box at a light pole and damaged the lights, then left the area. Report to follow.
At 1:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Wilderness Trail. Officers met with an individual who reported fraudulent transactions. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 2:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal domestic. Officers met with the individuals involved, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 3:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian collision at the intersection of Uinta Drive and Roosevelt Drive. It was reported that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Uinta Drive and WY 530 in the eastbound lane approaching the intersection with Roosevelt Drive. The pedestrian, not utilizing a crosswalk, began crossing the street, attempting to walk east at the intersection. The driver of the vehicle reported observing a dog in the roadway, then noticed the pedestrian and swerved to avoid the pedestrian and the dog, when the front passenger side of the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle immediately pulled the vehicle over and notified emergency services of the accident and waited on scene until officers and EMS arrived.
The pedestrian was transported by ambulance. The case is still under investigation and is being assisted by the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Report to follow.
At 3:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Smith’s. Officers met with staff who turned over found debit or charge cards. Officers returned some of the cards to the owners and booked the remaining cards in for safekeeping.
At 8:07 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of N 4th W Street and West Flaming Gorge Way and issued the driver, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.
At 8:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Uinta Drive and Roosevelt Drive. Officers met with the owner and returned the property.
May 16
At 2:50 a.m., officers observed individuals walking on Iowa Avenue that were believed to be juveniles. Officers made contact with the individuals and ascertained they were not in violation of curfew, but one of the individuals was found to have two active Sweetwater County warrants and a non-extraditable warrant out of Florida. Officers placed Tylor Stewart under arrest per the active warrants and transported Stewart to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary on West Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported finding their gate open and damaged. No monetary losses were reported. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny at Michigan Court. Officers met with an individual who reported fraudulent charges on their credit card. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.
