Green River Police Department reports for April 8

At 3:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers met with school administration who reported a student had walked out of the building without permission. Officers made contact with the juvenile’s parent or guardian, attempted to locate the juvenile, age 16, gathered information, and completed a report of the incident. The case is still under investigation. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.

At 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision at Smith’s. Officers met with an individual who reported finding damage to their vehicle that had been parked and unoccupied in the parking area. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 7:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of civil issues on Sunset Street. Officers met with individuals and conducted a civil standby. At the request of the property owner trespass warnings were issued and officers completed a report of the incident.

April 9

At 5:16 p.m., officers responded to a report of a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) on Uinta Drive concerning a subject who appeared intoxicated and injured, driving a vehicle with bumper damage. Officers located the vehicle parked and made contact with the driver. Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their breath and subsequently placed the driver, Brent Gamble, under arrest and issued a citation for alleged DWUI of alcohol .08 or greater. Officers transported Gamble to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

At 6:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary on Monroe Avenue. Officers met with an individual who reported items had been taken from their residence while they were out of town. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 8:56 p.m., officers responded to a report of a nuisance animal complaint on Hillcrest Way. Officers arrived in the area and located the barking dogs, met with the owner, and issued a citation for alleged nuisance animal to Alex Brady, of Green River.

April 10

At 9:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals who reported a family member was causing a disturbance and physically assaulted an individual. Officers gathered information and subsequently placed Whitney Santhuff under arrest for alleged simple assault. Officers transported Santhuff to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.

April 11

At 6:50 a.m., officers issued a citation to Karen Odom, of Green River, for alleged animal at large, second offense.

At 12:33 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a traffic control device at the intersection of Uinta Drive and Roosevelt Drive. Officers met with the driver who was found to have a suspended and expired drivers license. Officers issued the driver, Tawney Nelson, of Green River, a citation for alleged DWUS 2nd or subsequent offense and completed a report of the incident.

At 10:58 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on East Teton Boulevard and issued the driver, James Hartman, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 12:52 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling westbound on Monroe Avenue approaching the intersection with Andrews Street. A second vehicle was traveling southbound on Andrews Street, also approaching the intersection. The second vehicle initiated a left-hand turn onto Monroe Avenue and struck the front passenger side bumper of the first vehicle. Officers met with both drivers, gathered information, and issued the driver of the second vehicle, Kaeleb Knavel, of Green River, a citation for alleged stop sign violation. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 3:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision on Upland Way. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been hit while parked and unoccupied in the parking area.

April 12

At 8:52 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Uinta Drive and Clark Street and issued the driver, Krystal Mccort, of Evanston, a citation for alleged speeding school zone.

At 9:14 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Upland Way and Uinta Drive and issued the driver, Morgan Asay, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.

At 10:57 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile in possession of a tobacco product at Lincoln Middle School. Officers met with school administration, the juvenile and their parents or guardians. Officers gathered information and subsequently issued the juvenile, 13, of Green River, a citation for alleged use/possession of tobacco by a minor, then completed a report of the incident.

April 13

At 4:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats or harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported receiving threatening messages via Facebook Messenger. Officers gathered information and completed a report of the incident.

At 12:35 p.m., officers responded to the GRPD lobby to collect medications from the drop off box in the lobby. Officers collected the medications, booked them in for destruction, and completed a report of the incident.

At 9:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the Embassy Tavern. It was reported the individual had walked out of the establishment before officer arrival. Officers arrived in the area and observed two individuals inside a vehicle and made contact. Officers met with the individual who had been causing the disturbance, who was uncooperative and found to be intoxicated. Officers subsequently placed Kati Shreeves, of Green River, under arrest for alleged public intoxication, issued a citation, transported Shreeves to the Sweetwater County Detention Center, and completed a report of the incident.

April 14

At 8:04 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile possibly being in possession of a tobacco product on school grounds at Lincoln Middle School. Officers met with the juvenile and found them to be in possession of a nicotine vape. Officers issued the juvenile, 13, of Green River, a citation for alleged possession of tobacco by minor. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 12:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at Green River High School. The reporting person stated that they believed their vehicle had been keyed sometime after parking the vehicle in the parking lot that morning. Officers observed the damage, and after reviewing surveillance video of the location determined the damage had not happened in the parking lot that day. Officers were unable to find any other leads and completed a report of the incident.

At 5:23 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Uinta Drive and River View Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they believed they were being followed by a vehicle attempting to impersonate a police officer by using emergency lights. Officers met with the suspect who advised they work for a security company and that the vehicle had died while at a stoplight and he only activated the lights to make sure they were still operational. Officers advised the subject the lights could not be used unless he was at work. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 9:01 p.m., officers responded to a report of a verbal dispute on Bridger Drive. Officers met with the parties involved who advised the argument was verbal only and they would come up with a solution to the issue they were arguing about and wouldn’t have any further issues. Officers completed a report of the incident.

April 15

At 1:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Indian Hills Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised he is the owner of several apartment complexes and had two potential renters tell him they had paid an application fee for the apartments. The owner advised he does not charge application fees and he does not know who the person is that was in contact with the potential renters. Officers attempted to contact the suspect but were unable to, and were unable to locate any further leads. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 6:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run at Smith’s. Officers met with the victim who advised the vehicle was parked and unoccupied at the time of the collision. Officers also met with a witness who observed the crash. The witness was able to provide a license plate number of the suspect vehicle. Officers located the driver, Hermelinda Casper, 61, of Green River, and issued a citation for alleged inattentive driving with crash. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 8:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of suspicious activity on Medicine Bow Drive. Upon arrival officers located vandalism, broken windows, and open doors on the property. Officers spoke with witnesses and the property owner and observed the damage to building. Officers were unable to locate any leads at the time of the incident. Officers completed a report of the incident.

April 16

At 12:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on Crossbow Drive. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they had been the victim of several online scams. Officers reviewed the emails provided by the reporting party and determined them to be similar to many common internet scams. There was no confirmed monetary loss at the time of the report. Officers completed a report of the incident.

At 4:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at Alexandria Circle and Scotts Bottom Road. The reporting person advised that they had construction equipment damaged. Officers documented the damage, but due to there being no witnesses or a suspected time the vandalism had occurred they were unable to locate any further leads. Officers completed a report of the incident.

April 18

At 11:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing at Club 86 Lounge and Liquor. Officers met with staff who requested to have two individuals trespassed from the property. Officers attempted to locate the individuals, later met with one of the individuals who had returned to the establishment, escorted them from the property, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.

April 19

At 3:11 a.m., officers observed an individual believed to have an active warrant at Maverick. Officers confirmed the warrant and made contact with the individual. Alex Holcomb, of Green River, was placed under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Holcomb to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
