Dear Editor,
To the author of the article called “Our View: Time for Wyo. to get off the Trump train” posted in the Green River Star in the Feb. 24, 2022 issue, I would have addressed you by name, but the article was not signed and I would also like to direct you to read the Star’s Mission Statement. It is directly to the left of the article in question in that issue. Here is a snippet of it:
Our Mission
“We strive to cover all the news and entertainment important to the people of Green River. Our entire staff takes part in the decision-making process of what appears in these pages and all content is locally generated. If you have a story idea, please contact any of the people you see here.
The Star editorials, which appear under the title “Our View,” are written from the position of the newspaper, usually with the influence of several people, and in the hope that they will carry the weight of our 100-plus years of leadership.”
Instead of picking apart the article posted back in February, since I don’t agree with 98% of the opinions posted in said piece, I just want to point out that in speaking with several other Green River citizens, I am having a hard time finding any that do. I personally think that the article is very biased and partisan, as is this newspaper.
The Star has leaned more and more to the left that I really don’t think the title “Our View” is appropriate any longer, nor is it the truth.
Seriously, I am considering canceling my subscription because it seems like the people you kick your ideas around with are already in agreement with YOUR view, but certainly not with mine, or any of the many, many other folks I have discussed this article with for the past few weeks. They, like me, absolutely disagree with your view.
If there are readers out there that would like me to share my take on the article and why I think it is a crock, you let me know and I will break it down for you in another letter to the editor.
