Green River Police Department reports for Feb. 14
At 6:24 p.m., Animal Control Officers responded to a report of two dogs running around. Officers impounded the dogs at the Animal Control Shelter and later issued citations to the owner, Elysha Dean, of Green River, for alleged nuisance animal and animal at large.
Feb. 15
At 12:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Uinta Drive. It was reported one vehicle was traveling in the right southbound lane and a second vehicle was traveling behind the first vehicle. As the first vehicle pulled over for a funeral escort, the passenger side of the second vehicle struck the rear driver’s side bumper of the first vehicle. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 16
At 3:29 p.m., officers and EMS responded to a report of an unconscious individual on Jefferson Street. Officers assisted EMS personnel and the individual was transported. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 11:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a court order violation on South 5th East Street. Officers met with an individual who reported being contacted by an individual with a no contact order. Officers then met with the other individual, took statements, and completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 17
At 9:24 a.m., officers responded to a report of fraud reported at the GRPD office. Officers met with an individual who reported a possible fraudulent Facebook post regarding a vendor event. Officers confirmed there was not a scheduled event for the specified time given in the post, and posted a scam warning. No monetary losses reported. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 5:14 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling east on Barnhart Street approaching the intersection with Bramwell Street. A second vehicle was traveling north on Bramwell Street approaching Barnhart Street. As the first vehicle entered the intersection the front bumper of the second vehicle struck the rear passenger side of the first vehicle. Officers took statements and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unattended vehicle running for a long period of time outside of a residence in Wilderness Court. Officers were able to make contact with the owner, who was unaware it had been running. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 18
At 12:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud on East Flaming Gorge Way. Officers met with an individual who reported they had made arrangements to purchase a puppy from an individual through an online classifieds site, but did not receive the puppy or a refund. It was reported the individual requested a deposit, then after they received the money they requested more money for a documentation transfer. Then after they were confronted and a refund was requested the communication was blocked and the posts were removed. Officers completed a report of the incident. Monetary losses were reported.
At 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of threats and harassment reported at the GRPD office. Officers met with an individual who advised they received a threatening text message from a known individual. Officers met with the individual, took statements, and completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 19
At 10:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats and harassment. Officers met with an individual who reported being harassed by a known individual and requested a trespass warning be issued. Officers made contact with the individual, issued a trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 12:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Windriver Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicles had been damaged. Officers observed the damage and completed a report of the incident.
At 1:18 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with a warrant. Officers met with the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Brooke Cottrell, of Rock Springs, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Cottrell to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers were notified the juvenile had returned home and responded to the residence. Officers met with the juvenile and their parents or guardians and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 10:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of a fight at the Ponderosa Bar. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with several individuals who advised an argument that turned into a physical altercation had taken place. All parties separated and officers completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 20
At 12:27 p.m., officers responded to a report of found property at Castle Rock Electric. Officers met with an individual who turned over a found wallet. Officers attempted to contact the owner, booked in the wallet for safekeeping, and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:52 p.m., officers responded to a report of trespassing on East 4th South Street. Officers met with an individual who requested a trespass warning be issued to an individual for their property. Officers met with the individual, issued the trespass warning, and completed a report of the incident.
Feb. 21
At 6:32 a.m., officers responded to a report of civil issues on Wilderness Trail. Officers met with an individual who wished to report a verbal dispute over custody issues. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9:48 a.m., officers responded to a report of an elderly individual trespassing on the Union Pacific Railroad property. Officers met with the individual, known to officers from prior contacts, who was inappropriately dressed for current weather conditions. Officers called a family member, turned over the individual to them, and completed a report of the incident.
At 8 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Uinta Drive and East Flaming Gorge Way. It was reported one vehicle was traveling eastbound negotiating the curve of the overpass when the vehicle began sliding, turning sideways, then traveling over the curb on the right-hand side of the roadway and striking a light pole. Officers issued the driver of the vehicle, Madison Wilson, 18, of Green River, a citation for alleged failure to provide proof of liability insurance and completed a report of the incident.
At 8:56 p.m., officers responded to an agency assist on Interstate 80. Officers assisted SCSO Deputies on a traffic stop in reference to a weapons offense and completed a report of the incident.
