Green River Police Department reports for Jan. 18
At 11:36 a.m., officers responded to a report of found drugs on Barnhart Street. Officers met with an individual who was remodeling and located suspected drug paraphernalia. Officers collected the paraphernalia and completed a report of the incident.
At 3:19 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Uinta Drive and issued the driver, a juvenile, 16, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.
At 6:28 p.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with an individual who reported a verbal altercation. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
Jan. 19
At 12:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile being in possession of an electronic cigarette on school property at Expedition Academy. Officers met with the juvenile, 17, of Green River, and issued them a citation for alleged unlawful possession or use of tobacco product by minor. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 20
At 6:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in an altercation. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 2:52 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny on Mississippi Street. Officers met with an individual who reported their porch light had been taken. Officers reviewed video footage and completed a report of the incident.
At 5:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on South 1st West Street. It was reported one vehicle was traveling southbound on S 1st W and struck a second vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied on the west side of the roadway. Officers issued the driver, Deryle Valerio, 63, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash and completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 21
At 12:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was initiating a right-hand turn from West Flaming Gorge Way onto North 4 West Street when the driver’s side of the vehicle struck the driver’s side of a second vehicle, which was traveling north on N 4 W approaching the intersection. Officers ascertained the driver of the first vehicle had a suspended driver’s license and issued the driver, Jasmine Mariscal, 24, of Green River, citations for alleged DWUS and speed - too fast for conditions. The driver arranged for alternate transportation and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 6:42 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on East 4th South Street. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal altercation. The parties were separated and officers completed a report of the incident.
Jan. 22
At 11:03 a.m., Animal Control Officers met with an individual at the shelter, who reported they had been running their dogs out by the airport and found a stray dog. Officers were later contacted by a different individual who claimed that they had found the same dog out by Little America and that the dog had bitten a family member the night before.
At 11:35 p.m., officers and GRFD responded to a report of a dumpster fire on Monroe Avenue. GRFD was able to extinguish the fire and officers completed a report of the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Jan. 23
At 4:56 a.m., officers and GRFD responded to a report of a dumpster fire at NAPA Auto Parts. GRFD was able to extinguish the fire and officers completed a report of the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
At 8:33 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Saratoga Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported a family member that took a vehicle without permission. Officers later located the vehicle and met with the driver. The vehicle was turned over to the owner and officers completed a report of the incident.
At 4:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of larceny on North 1st West Street. Officers met with an individual who reported cases of soda pop had been stolen out of the bed of their truck. Officers canvassed the area, took statements, and completed a report.
