Green River Police Department reports for Dec. 7
At 12:59 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Schultz Street. Officers met with individuals who reported an altercation and damage to a window of the residence. No contact with the suspected individual was made at the time officers completed a report of the incident. The case is still under investigation.
At 1:33 a.m., officers, while on scene for an unrelated incident on Schultz Street, observed accidental property damage and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:29 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on Monroe Avenue and issued the driver of the first vehicle, Megan Elenbaum, 32, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged failure to provide proof of liability coverage.
At 4:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a scam at Family Dollar. Officers met with the reporting party who advised they received a text message claiming to be from Amazon stating they were owed a refund. After contacting the phone number provided, the suspect told the reporting party to provide identifying information as well as to purchase Google Play cards in order to get the refund. The victim did not suffer any monetary losses and officers provided education about scams. Officers then completed a report of the incident.
At 10:19 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Monroe Avenue and Uinta Drive and issued the driver, Jack Bowker, 41, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged failure to provide proof of liability coverage.
Dec. 8
At 9:21 a.m., officers assisted the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office in locating a vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Bramwell Street and Logan Street. Officers assisted the SCSO and the driver was turned over to the SCSO Deputy. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 4:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a subject removal at McDonalds. Officers met with the manager who requested an individual removed from the property and a trespass warning issued. Officers met with the individual and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the individual. Officers subsequently placed Michael Moore, 32, of Green River, under arrest for alleged public intoxication and trespass (refuse to leave when asked). Officers transported Moore to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance on East 3rd North Street. The parties involved had separated prior to the officer’s arrival. Officers met with one of the individuals involved and were unable to locate the other party. Officers while on scene discovered an individual with an active warrant. Officers placed Wayne Hestert, 51, of Green River, under arrest per the active warrant. Officers transported Hester to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and Completed a report of the incident.
At 8:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of an animal bite on Cumorah Way. Officers met with the owner of the dog that reported that their own dog had bit them and they wanted to surrender it to the shelter. Officers met the individual at the Animal Shelter and the dog was turned over to Animal Control. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 10:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of a barking dog on River View Drive. Officers made contact at the residence and advised the owner. The dogs were brought inside and officers completed a report of the incident.
Dec. 9
At 7:29 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling west on Shoshone Avenue and a second vehicle was traveling south on Hitching Post Drive, both approaching the intersection. The first vehicle stopped at the intersection and as it began to enter the intersection the front of the vehicle struck the front driver’s side of the second vehicle. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, Amber Sponsel, 39, of Green River, a citation for alleged inattentive driving with a crash.
At 10:56 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault.
Officers met with two individuals who reported being assaulted by an unknown individual. Officers attempted to identify and locate the suspected individual, and completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 5:07 p.m. officers responded to a report of an individual with an active arrest and hold order at the Probation and Parole office. Officers met with agents and the individual, confirmed the warrant, and placed Jess Allred, 37, of Green River, under arrest per the arrest and hold order, PC arrest for probation or parole violation. Officers transported Allred to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
At 6:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. It was reported the vehicle was traveling east at Mile marker 91 on the I80 east bound ramp when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle slid off of the roadway into a snow fence and down an embankment. Officers issued the driver Courtney Owens, 25, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged no proof of liability insurance and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. It was reported the vehicle was traveling south on Uinta Drive over the overpass when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle slid and struck the concrete barrier on the west side of the bridge. Officers issued the driver Amber Pehringer, 19, of Rock Springs, a citation for alleged no proof of liability insurance and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:52 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. It was reported the vehicle was traveling east on Trail Drive initiating a curve in the road when the vehicle slid and struck a concrete barrier. Officers issued the driver Douglas Walker, 21, of Green River, a citation for alleged no proof of liability insurance and completed a report of the incident.
At 11:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of a hit and run collision. It was reported one vehicle was traveling north on Caribou Lane approaching Fox Hills Drive when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle slid through the intersection and into the driveway of a residence and struck the garage. Officers located the driver and issued the juvenile, 17, of Green River, a citation for alleged careless driving. Officers completed a report of the incident.
Dec. 10
At 6:59 a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision. It was reported one vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Shoshone Avenue and Hitching Post Drive facing west, while a second vehicle was traveling north on Hitching Post Drive, approaching the intersection. The first vehicle pulled into the intersection, striking the front passenger side of the second vehicle. The second vehicle was pushed off of the roadway and into a fence. Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle, June Wolfe, 37, of Green River, a citation for an alleged stop sign violation and completed a report of the incident.
At 7:25 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Shoshone Avenue and Anvil Drive and issued the driver, Anthony Rodriguez, 32, of Green River, a citation for an alleged stop sign violation.
At 8:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Officers met with individuals involved in a verbal dispute. Officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 3:12 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual with an arrest and hold order. Officers met with Probation and Parole agents and the individual, confirmed the arrest order, and placed Chelsea King, 28, of Green River, under arrest. Officers transported King to the Sweetwater County Detention Center. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 4:13 p.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny on Jensen Street. Officers met with an individual who reported their door decoration was missing or stolen. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 6:38 p.m., officers responded to a report of fraud. Officers at the GRPD office met with an individual who reported they suspect their computer had been hacked. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 9:54 p.m., officers responded to a report of a runaway. The juvenile, 15, was located and returned to their parent or guardian and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
Dec. 11
At 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of loud noises suspected to be gunshots on South Wagonwheel Drive. Officers contacted multiple residences but did not locate any source of the noise, and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:23 a.m., officers responded to a report of burglary and possible taking of a minor child by a custodial parent on Hutton Street. Officers met with both guardians or parents and determined the issue was of a civil manner. Officers offered assistance and completed a report of the incident.
At 10:32 a.m. and 4:47 p.m., officers responded to reports of vandalism on Trail Drive. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been egged. While on scene officers observed several other vehicles that had been egged. Officers contacted several vehicle owners and completed a report of the incidents.
At 5:28 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West Flaming Gorge Way and North 1st West Street and issued the driver, Justin Santhuff, 38, of Green River, a citation for alleged valid certificate of title; cert. of registration; license plates required violation.
At 7:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance and assaulting an individual at the Buck’n Bar. The individual left prior to officer arrival, but during the attempt to locate the individual the individual returned to the bar. Officers located the individual who was acting disorderly and was intoxicated. Officers placed Michael Medved, 38, of Green River, under arrest for alleged public intoxication and interference with peace officer. Officers transported Medved to the Sweetwater County Detention Center and completed a report of the incident.
Dec. 12
At 10:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of a runaway. The juvenile, 15, was located and returned to their parent or guardian, and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 2:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism on Idaho Street. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been egged. While on scene officers observed several other vehicles that had been egged. Officers contacted several vehicle owners and completed a report of the incidents.
Dec. 13
At 12:27 a.m., officers responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Officers attempted to locate the juvenile, 15, but at the time of the report the juvenile had not been located. The case is still under investigation. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 4:21 a.m., officers responded to a report of a runaway. The juvenile, 15, was later located and officers completed a report of the incident. The GRPD did not release the address officers responded to.
At 9:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the Sweetwater County Courthouse. Officers made contact with the individual and completed a report of the incident.
At 12:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Officers met with a city employee who reported finding a water faucet that had been turned on and left on dumping water onto the ground. Officers did not locate anybody in the area and completed a report of the incident.
At 2:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of vandalism at Schreck Enterprises. Officers met with an individual who reported their vehicle had been egged sometime in the last few nights. Officers completed a report of the incident.
At 6:29 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive and issued the driver Ryan Hoffman, 20, of Green River, a citation for alleged speeding.
At 8:50 p.m., officers responded to a report from an individual who reported a truck that was left in the middle of the road on Uinta Drive. Officers located the truck and met with the individuals. It was reported the truck had run out of gas and the driver had walked to the gas station. While on scene officers located drug paraphernalia and issued a citation to Tylor Stewart, 28, of Green River. Officers completed a report of the incident.
