Kenneth E. Middlemas, 84, passed away with family by his side Dec. 3 in Idaho Falls.
Ken was born Oct. 4, 1937, near Aladdin, Wyo., to Ralph K. and Alice M. Middlemas.
He spent his youth in the Black Hills area of Wyoming and South Dakota and then moved to Green River at the age of 19. Ken spent most of his adult life in Green River with moves to Nebraska and Colorado for employment.
He married Bessie Jarvie in Cheyenne on August 23, 1982.
Ken worked for UP Railroad, Little America, and at Stauffer and Allied trona mines around Green River. In Nebraska he worked for UP and in Colorado he was employed at the Climax molybdenum mine.
Following his retirement from Allied in the early 2000s, Ken went to work at Rolling Green Country Club. He found great enjoyment in that job and often commented he liked it so much he would work there for free but was glad for the extra money.
Ken enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, long walks in and around Green River, rides to view wildlife and local scenery and watching old movies with an emphasis on westerns. He was a big John Wayne fan.
He was a devoted husband and father as well as being a friend that was always willing to help if he saw a need.
Survivors include his wife Bessie of Idaho Falls; sons Willie Middlemas of Crivitz, Wisconsin; Matthew Middlemas (Sonya) of Beulah, N.D.; Tom Jarvie (Cindy) of Green River; Jim Jarvie (Brenda) of Idaho Falls; daughters Alice Sick (Doug) of Sidney, Neb., and Lisa Romero (Steve) of Rock Springs; sister, Marlene Davis (Tom) of Belle Fourche, S.D.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place, and no services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
