Lorana "Lori" Mae Carter, 81, passed away on Wednesday November 10, 2021 at Deer Trail Assisted Living in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She was a resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming for the past 50 years. Mrs. Carter died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 15, 1940 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of Alert "Swede" Edlund and Janet Herd.
Mrs. Carter attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
She married Don Carter August 10, 1973 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2017.
Mrs. Carter was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Carter, along with her husband Don Carter, was a Co-Owner/Operator of Carter Construction Company.
Survivors include her six sons, Ron Hughes of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Terry Hughes of Rawlins, Wyoming; Matt Carter and wife Karen of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Mike Carter of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Mitch Carter and his wife Lori of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Chris Carter of Cheyenne, Wyoming; six grandchildren, Tawny Hughes and companion John Smith; Hannah Hughes and companion Eli Meena; Dana Bijold and huband Brad; Julie Raney and husband Gary; Shayne Carter; Jonathan Sanchez and wife Alexis; eight great-grandchildren; Landon Hughes; Jude Hughes; Dean Hughes; Rebecca Bijold; Elizabeth Bijold; Henry Raney; Greyson Sanchez and Addison Sanchez; one cousin, Dennis Newton and wife Patricia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Maurice Edlund.

Cremation will take place; a Memorial Service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3101 College Drive, Rock Springs, Wyoming 82901.
